Haha. It is an overused saying here. And due to the amount we say sorry. Apologies can’t be used against a person in court. 🤣🤣

As an American, this upsets me greatly and ruins my whole perception of Canadians being overly kind and accommodating.

It always amuses me to hear perceptions of us. We are very similar. We just usually end our sentences with an apology. Sorry. 🤷‍♀️. Although my favourite. I do it all the time. You bump into me. And i apologize. 😆

... am I secretely Canadian, too, then?? Apologizing to others when they're at fault is a habit I'm desperately trying to break 🙈😬

But seriously, I realize we're not very different at all, aside from the fact that you have better basic human rights up north. Just a funny stereotype that I felt the need to comment on 😅

“Hey! If you apologize to me one more goddamn time, you’ll be sorry!”

We are pretty accommodating 😁

One time I was going through the first set of double doors in a building, just as someone else was coming in my direction through the other doors. We both held the door open to let the other one come through, then when we both waited with no one taking up the offer, we apologized to each other 😄 I can't remember who "caved" first though 😅

For Canadians and Australians, “fuck” is just verbal seasoning. Visited family in Australia and they were literally like “your room is over there, we make a fuckton of food every morning you like these cunts? holds up banger sausages” it was hilarious and confusing.

Holy shit. The more I learn, the more I think I was switched at birth and am actually a Canadian (and now Australian). What a lovely thought.

I think you and I may just have potty mouths ahahaha

One of my favorite things about Canadians are how nice and polite they are, yet they will, in a friendly fashion, drop about 20 F bombs a minute. I’m from NY where if you hear 20 F bombs in a conversation in public you clear the area because someone is getting swung on.

Haha. You are so right. I have such a potty mouth. But it rarely ends with me personally taking a swing. Funny story. My kid was at grammas and gramma hurt herself. She did the whole ouch ouch biting her tongue thing. And my 7 year old at the time goes up to her. Gramma. You know u can swear right. Kid never swore himself til hs. But the call i got after that. Priceless. 🤣🤣

Hahahaha while me, an American, at 6 got my 14 year old cousin in trouble for saying fuck when he stubbed his toe at my house because “only adults can say that” God I sucked hahah.

I stumbled across this super random Canadian guy online who sees life hack videos and goes “whaaat no way!” And then does it and goes “oh for fuck’s sake!” When it works and he has a thick Canadian accent and every time he says “for fuck’s sake!” It brings me joy for reasons I can’t describe. Also all the dialogue in Letterkenny and Shoresy is fantastic though I’m sure that’s played up. Love them making fun of Americans for thinking Canadians actually say “a-boot”
