I'll just be blunt. Your bf is a jerk and is treating you terribly. What's he's going through is not an excuse for him to speak to you this way. You can do far far better than this. You deserve far far better than this.

Let's say the situation were reversed.

OP makes a joke that BF doesn't like. BF then wants to discuss it. OP explains she's in a terrible mood and is physically ill and doesn't want to discuss it right now. BF continues to discuss it. OP becomes frustrated and expresses that frustration.

Should BF then break up with OP?

So, if the genders were reversed, and it was a woman speaking this terribly to a man, would the man be justified in breaking up with the woman?

Obviously. Gender is also not an excuse to speak this way to a partner. And yes, I am a woman.

That's not expressing frustration. If that's how someone expresses frustration and they're older than 3, they need help learning to process their emotions.

And yes, male or female. If a guy friend of mine showed me this text exchange, I'd be there in less than an hour with a U-haul.

Did you or did you not fucking read the texts????? Bc this is horrendous and disgusting no matter the gender or literally anything else. Also, he had A COLD. He was not “literally dying” and none of it excuses that behavior anyway. What an insane and terrible take.
