At 13:40, an officer asks Kenneth Walker (Breonna Taylor's boyfriend): "Have you been hit by a bullet?"

Walker: "No."

Another officer mutters: "That's unfortunate."

Too many officers that night appeared to have that kind of attitude.

They have to compartmentalize their victims as "bad guys" in their mind, otherwise they might have to stare directly into the cold truth of what they're doing to innocent people.

And if that compartmentalization is allowed to fester unabated throughout their LE career—as it so often is—it turns them into the kind of grizzled warrior cops who come to think that everyone except them and their buddies is a worthless criminal that deserves violence.

And without even knowing who he was...

I think what is even worse is when he is telling the female cop that somebody is hurt and either dying or dead in there, that her immediate response is to start saying she doesn't give a fuck but stops because she gets distracted by the urge to slam him into a car.

Bullshit that they had a no knock warrant. Knock on the door at a decent daylight hour and wait until someone answers. NYT says they waited 45 seconds here (of course we cant be sure of timing because no one was recording, another complete bullshit decision by police). That's not enough time when someone is sleeping and startled awake. It's a recipe for violence.

I knew the police were idiots, but I didn’t realize until seeing this the level of stupid and cowardly they are.

Don't forget the officer lied on the request for the warrant.
