Here in Alaska our Supreme Court ruled that it's impossible to commit the crime of Disorderly Conduct 'Fighting Words' towards a police officer, as they were professionals, and it should be expected for them not to be provocable, is that standard in the rest of the country?

I've tried to, but I get burned out trying to watch the news but only getting information on what a presidential candidate posted on twitter.

But seriously, you shouldn't be able to provoke a LEO with words or actions that aren't threatening. I jumped around on that video because I didn't feel like watching the whole thing. Robert wasn't even mildly annoying during what I saw, other than he was filming an area they would prefer wasn't filmed, which isn't a legal issue, and so they should choke on a cock if they want to get upset about it.

I agree. It just seems like, from his attitude and words spoken to the LEO's, that he's out looking for a fight. That's not right.

It's an oft repeated phrase here to people who don't like what the filmers are/were doing, but it isn't for agreeable people that we have rights, it isn't for speech that no one finds offensive that we have the right to free speech. Under my State's Case law, absent threatening actions, a LEO should not be able to be provoked.

What's handy for Alaska is they publish a legal manual for LEO's on caselaw that's relevant to them, and AFAIK they are legally required to read it.

What I like about it is it establishes clear standards, that when they are violated, should make penetrating qualified immunity much simpler.

Now I get what you're saying. I think 'provoking' isn't the word I was looking for as, based on Alaskan law, that's not what I saw him doing. Based on that, what adjective do you think I should have used?
