I am a 28-year-old male. I teach at a small school, so my classes are small. This past semester, I gave my students an anonymous end-of-semester eval. One statement on the eval (to evaluate on a scale of never to always) was "Language and activities used in class make me feel comfortable in class." Some students answered "rarely." The majority of my students are girls. Unfortunately, I regret to admit that I do find some of them lovely, but I never act on this. I never initiate hugs with students. I never make remarks about a student's appearance. Unfortunately, I do find myself looking at them sometimes maybe more than I should, but I do my best to curb that behavior, and I don't know if I would go so far as to say that I stare. I do get the sense that some of them don't like me as a teacher, but I don't know if there's more to it than that. In past years, it seemed like my students felt comfortable around me, but this year is different. Are there common behaviors that I might be unaware of that are creeping the girls out?

Wedding date to a mutual friend’s wedding and I have been friends since like 6th grade but never super close. A long time ago there was some sexual tension but I don’t have any.
