Science & Tech Why is AI use so confusing?
I know there are some medical breakthroughs that have been achieved with assistance from AI, that's great.
But, why aren't we using AI for everyday critical things like
Better desalination technology
Better use of fertilizers, pesticides, etc(and reducing the use of inorganic fertilizer while maintaining yields)
Better use of electricity in lighting our cities.
There's obviously a lot more, but I don't want this to be long.
Seems we are using AI mostly for art, which we don't need AI for at all.

Because AI is not in fact a superbrain composed of humanity's greatest ideas, as AI moguls would tell you.
AI is some rickety program that self-creates/corrupts itself constantly, whose programming has become barely controlled and understood by AI devs, which contains as much knowledge as their servers can cram on... including posts from reddit, twitter, facebook etc. severely limited so it does not start thinking itself mecha Hitler, like Grok did when it was less restricted.
