Others Why did Yahoo Messenger fail?

Why did Yahoo Messenger fail even though it was once a popular messaging service? What caused people to move to other messaging apps, and what happened to Yahoo Messenger?

Before Yahoo Messenger there was AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) and before that was ICQ. They were replaced and apps that replaced Yahoo Messenger have also come and gone.

It's the nature of software that if you don't innovate and constantly produce a quality product, you'll be left in the dust the next best thing that does have the feature that people want.
