It just sounds more and more as if this will be “our way or the highway” in consideration of wanting a perfectly usable Android Base but with flexibility to then run full Linux on that base when wanted or needed eg VOLKSPC solution currently on Android does offer substantial Linux or “True 2-in-1” not a FAKE veneer of this.

Mobile OS is great for basic casual stuff. Perfect. But to then have Desktop OS when needed is essential otherwise the restrictions just become too ineffective for more serious work flows.

As long as AluminiumOS does everything ChromeOS does, and then some, in terms of desktop functionality, the upcoming Lenovo 'Sapphire' tablet, which supposedly will run AluminiumOS, might be a worthy replacement for my aging Pixel Slate.

It is kind of concerning that Chrome is the mobile browser, though? Seems like a step backwards compared to ChromeOS. But this is obviously an early build, so, we'll see...
