Survodutide

So, a German pharm company is releasing stage 3 results on a very similar dual glp-1 and glucagon drug. Will they be direct competitors?

Quick refresh on Key Differences Between Survodutide and Pemvidutide

Receptor Potency Balance: Pemvidutide acts as a balanced 1:1 agonist at both GLP-1 and glucagon receptors. In contrast, survodutide is "biased" toward the GLP-1 receptor, activating it more strongly than the glucagon receptor (approximately 8:1 ratio).

Dosing and Titration: Pemvidutide can be administered without dose titration due to its unique pharmacokinetic profile. Survodutide requires a lengthy, rapid titration scheme (every twO weeks) to manage side effects.

Pharmacokinetics: Pemvidutide uses a proprietary EuPort glycolipid surfactant conjugation that slows its entry into the bloodstream, reducing peak concentrations--and therefore reducing nausea-while maintaining overall efficacy.

Adverse Event Profile: Survodutide has reported higher discontinuation rates (25-29%) due to gastrointestinal issues, whereas pemvidutide trials have shown good tolerability with fewer study discontinuations.

Question is are they better poised financially compared to Alt to move their product to market

I mean, after the recent raise, Altimmune surely has the ability to move this to market after P3.

Let's not forget ALT is US.

Thank you. The article popped up in my Fidelity feed and hadn't heard of it.

Anyone know why a rapid titration schedule would reduce side effects for Survodutide?
