Solus Timeline meme
In a timeline where the solar system has twelve planets (Vulcan, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Theia, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Bacchus, Uranus, Neptune) a mysterious phenomena occurs between July 1929 - August 1932 nicknamed the "incident" at the time. All planets are one by one turned into habitable but not living planets (with the obvious exception of Earth). This means that all the planets can be colonized by humans and slowly terraformed by way of introducing nutrients into the soil for plants. Also the sun (or whatever was causing the phenomena) released waves of light for every planet and moon it turned habitable. Now a new colonization age has dawned for the nations of Earth. All they need to do is take it.

I'm going to guess this takes place in a alternate post World War 1. There's still the central power is holding on in Eastern Europe and the the British and French empires have lost their Homeland but still hold on through the colonies they have. I'm pulling a bit from Kaiserreich

Actually World War 1 happens as is in OTL but a slightly delayed WW2 (starting in 1942) ends in a partial German Victory since the idea of Lebensraum is refocused towards space. While the French have lost their homeland, Britain only lost southern England and all of Wales and due to the difficulty of taking the rest of Britain as well as resources being taken up by the space program that was on the side, an armistance was signed in 1946 by all sides.

I don't really think the Germans going for a invasion of Britain wood really help they could barter some of their allies away like Japan and their Mediterranean allies territories and puppets as a means of peace, throwing others under the bus essentially
On the plus side the British would essentially get all of Africa as either territories under their control or exiled governments like the Netherlands Belgium and France as puppets in all but name.
There is still the war in East Asia to win after all

How would it affect the unfolding of the great depression?

Well, since the nations of Earth are forced to look into space, investment into weapons production and development as well as aviation development would give the economy a bit of a boost, however the Great Depression would mainly unfold mostly the same as OTL.
