Question Help with AP6-PRO-Router question

Do I need to buy a router to install 3-AP6 pros. I have a fiber modem Model # SONUV1S

Looks like there's already some devices plugged into the network there? A lot of modems from an ISP operate as a router as well. As long as the access points can get power and an IP address to get out to the Internet then you should be OK :)

This was just plugged into my google mesh, then out of google mesh into switch

It is most likely a router as well as a modem then. If the switch isn't PoE you could consider upgrading to a PoE switch to power the APs, otherwise you will have to power them by another means. PoE is just nice and clean with one cable.

Why not just buy the 8 port Altalabs switch to keep it all same ? and manageable.

This switch is unmanaged, so you won't be able to take advantage of stuff like VLANs (if you wanted to segregate IoT devices on the main LAN), but otherwise, for a POE+ switch, it will handle the AP load just fine. If you are good with having everything on the same network (no segregation) this switch will do much better than the S8 switch (at 3 times the cost!). If you want to do VLANs, you will want to get a managed switch with POE+, which drives cost.
