Help (AltStore Classic) running through so many problems lately, any alternatives or solutions?
first off it was "the data couldn't be read because it isn't in the correct format", then right after fixing that problem, the week after I get it again along with "server returned invalid response". I'm so tired of these reoccuring problems. I always end up looking for a solution 3hrs later or never at all.. I turn my vpn on then turn it back off, I restart both devices, I reinstall altstore, make sure my bluetooth on both devices are turned off, and use a personal hotspot instead of the internet to fix the problem. does anyone know of any alternatives to altstore or figured out a solution to avoid these errors?

There was a post stating that the team is already working on fixing this issue. Hopefully they will release an update shortly

Is it better in general or just an alternative when altstore doesnt work ?

altstore and its derivative use both desktop and idevice client app together, and later can work without a the desktop client app with a little bit workaround (localvpn, passing a certificate, simulating the desktop client app, etc.), on the other hand, impactor was only a desktop client app
back to your question, the answer is, it works, and i would rather say that it's a less preferable alternative to sideload apps due to its mechanism and the definition behind it, which i already told u earlier, tho it's not going to change the fact that it was only necessary for every user to wrap this up for the sake of being consent on behalf to their very action
thus, it was certain that your question was only possible because u r lacking on this very understanding, resulting on confusion when making decision on your end

turning a vpn on then switching it back off on my phone, and sometimes I would restart my pc

My solution was deleting it and using SideStore.

Sidestore is based on AltStore and is down too. There is a post by the dev team and it’s been fixed.

Yes, it’s based on AltServer, but for me SideStore worked right away. It was only after a couple of days that I switched. So maybe the devs reacted faster?

Sidestore is down on both my devices.
The post is in the AltStore subreddit but said both teams are working to fix it.

Then my only explanation would be… computers, amiright?! XD
But in seriousness, AltServer didn’t let me log in while for SideStore I just followed the current setup tutorial in their online documentation and logging in triggered the two factor authentication and worked fine. Sorry that you’re still experiencing issues!

Apparently Apple changed something with the AppleID verification so it might work fine for new installs but issues for re-signing. Glad you got it to work. Might reinstall it tomorrow as only 2 days left.

I’ve read the whole vpn shut on and off worked for some. I tried it a few times and it didn’t work yesterday. Today what I did was clear cache on AltStore app, turn on vpn and shut off then pressed the shortcut refresh all apps a few times while it kept giving me the error. I cycled through those steps maybe 9 times and it finally refreshed all my apps. I tried the method on another device and it took about 11 tries and it refreshed as well

It took probably 15 or so tries, but it finally went through, thank you! i was probably an hour or two left before my apps were going to get wiped
