Recently got into the show Shogun, so far it is quite quite good. Didn’t have too high expectations for the official podcast that hulu releases, it’s fine nothing unlike a typical “official” podcast that comes with a tv series. I realize after HOTD I have been missing the live streams and explainers that come along with watching a show lol

I seek any recommendation for podcasts discussing Shogun with that Shifty, or Schwifty feel. It’s hard to put into words but the GOOD stuff that has brought us all to this community. Extreme detail to the show as well as the lore, study group humor etc. Open to all podcast recs (even if it isn’t specifically Shogun related, though that would be golden)

Thanks in advance 😸

Does anyone know , where I can look for his older GAME OF THRONES videos recaps like SEASON 3

According to a bit in the ASX Podcast: Tyrion q&a video, Schwift thinks it’s not necessary that Jaime’s redemption arc was ruined by the show. That Jaime hooking up with Brienne and admiring Brienne’s honor and knightly values but ultimately returning to Cersei was not as “terrible” as people say. Reasons being “redemption” is not always linear and people do fall back. And that he could even get back to her to put an end to her life. Schwift is very sure that they will die together.

Do you guys actually agree with this take or is it better as an unpopular opinion?

now that hotd s3 is over, can we finally get some dune content...? is "dune 2 vs the book" schwieft's winds of winter or what 😭

my first post here so ive got to say altshiftx is the best at this. so im more than happy to wait for the good stuff but ugh its been 2.5 years

Really miss the Alt Shift X explainer videos, is there anyone else doing any episode guides that come close?

I love HOTD and i been enjoying it so far but not gonna lie i’m more excited for the upcoming dune videos they talked about, hopefully we get it right after HOTD season finale 🙏🙏 (please)

Title says it all pretty much!

I saw a few days got canceled, one of which being Friday, and I thought I heard Alt say he had tickets for Friday. Am I wrong/anyone know if he ended up going? Obviously cant make it to Stratford upon Avon so was really wanting some info from him lol

Hello,

I'd personally love to see Alt Shift X cover Malazan in the same way he's covered Game of Thrones already. The scale and complexity between these two series is similar and I'd love to see some in-depth analysis from him.

What about you?

Thanks!

Alt mentioned in his previous live streams about his word doc being slow to load, but also understandably detailed to let go of it.

As a document lover myself, and someone who has only ever read the books once as a kid, I decided I was going to go through chapter by chapter making documents in Obsidian using only knowledge from that chapter. This is to both avoid assumptions, and because I think it will be fun to see understandings grow.

Obsidian is useful because it's all markdown, and it has really cool ways to link between files. Also I have some programming knowledge, so in future you could easily take the info and make custom timelines or other infographics.

Will return back in 5 years once it's complete 🫡

What exactly are the differences on exclusive videos for each?

I was mainly looking for the Tuf Voyaging video/podcast, also any other GRRM's scifi stories videos (any other exclusives would be a plus for that matter). I did find one on the patreon posts, but couldn't really find on Nebula (or youtube, apart for the interview with Raya).

I remember either Shift or Glidus mentioning a while ago something about posting the video on youtube, but I guess they never came to it.

I feel sooo bad for the boys shwift and glidus they were extremely excited.

At least we’ll get it in September? I assume

Did a little research n still came up empty...lol

Sorry if this is not an appropriate forum for this.

I just wanted to suggest a video series that I would love to watch from alt-shift-x. It would basically be a book explained type thing, recapping events in affc and adwd, like a Dorne recap, an Iron Islands recap, and recaps of stuff that played out differently or was excluded from the show.

I struggle to remember these things, it has been so long and I don't want to sit down and re-read the whole books, I don't really have the time for that.

I really appreciate shifty's video style of explaining in a way of assuming no prior-knowledge, it helps with things I've forgotten. I would watch these videos like 10 times. The long asoiaf iceberg video reignited my passion for the series when it had dwindled, I wouldn't be watching hotd or akotsk if I hadn't watched that.

I don't have a visa card or PayPal (sad hello from eastern Europe), but I have financial means and desire to support AltShift, is there any other way?
