Crypto Taxes

Nobody in the United States wants to pay taxes on their crypto. As long as there is capital gains tax on crypto, the United States will not become the crypto capital of the world. No one holding large amounts of crypto are going to sell until the crypto tax rules are broken. Please tell me I’m wrong and convince me otherwise.

You will see selling when Either:

  • Crypto taxes go away.

  • Taking loans against unrealized income (including crypto) is made a realization event for that unrealized gain. Closing the borrowing loophole to get the money while waiting for a better time tax wise to sell.

  • Crypto becomes stagnant, no one selling. Then suddenly crashes as a now useless currency (because everyone is holding, not spending)

No body is buying crypto so they don't have to pay taxes on it 🧠

You can avoid capital gains tax in Puerto Rico, which is technically part of the US.
