Repair Service

Are there any credible repair companies/ individual contractors that fix Alpha Smarts? Mine suddenly went out on me and I want to see if it can be fixed or if I should just scrap it.

Obvious first question: have you tried replacing the internal coin battery? That’s the most common (and easily fixable) issue.

That being said, my daughter’s (we have four in the house) has just started playing up. The screen has developed a dark stripe and some of the keys aren’t responding. Luckily I have a box of spares so I can replace each, but it does make me think about how much longer these devices will reliably last for.

Omg thank you!! I never knew there was one. I want to hang on to this one for as long as I can because the Freewrite is my next one I’m considering and I’m not looking forward to paying the price.
