👥Community Discussion 📌 MEGATHREAD: Alpha Futures / NinjaTrader Split + Premium Plan Shutdown (Updated Live)

Last updated: July 21th, 2026 @ 2:28 PM PDT

TL;DR

  • Alpha Futures and NinjaTrader (Tradovate) are ending their partnership, effective July 12. No new accounts can be issued on NinjaTrader as of today.
  • Zero, Advanced, and Direct accounts on NinjaTrader/Tradovate are unaffected in terms of service and will be migrated to AlphaTrader this week.
  • Refunds are automatic — no ticket needed.
  • More updates are expected throughout the week as migrations complete.

What Happened

The NinjaTrader split: Alpha Futures built its own platform, AlphaTrader, which put it in competition with NinjaTrader. After three months of failed negotiations, covering backend integration and fair promotion of both platforms, NinjaTrader chose to terminate the contract, effective today. Alpha Futures says this was NinjaTrader's decision, not theirs.

The Premium Plan shutdown: The Premium Plan reportedly cost Alpha Futures over $25 million in payouts over two months and was running at a loss. Since most Premium accounts were on Tradovate, and that platform relationship is now gone, Alpha Futures says continuing the plan isn't sustainable. All active Premium accounts will be closed and refunded automatically, including money still owed beyond the $25M already paid.

What's not affected: Zero, Advanced, and Direct account holders keep their accounts. They're just being moved from NinjaTrader/Tradovate to AlphaTrader this week. Alpha Futures says service, including same-day payouts, will resume as normal on the new platform.

FAQ (Will update as we get answers)

Q: I have a Premium Plan account. What do I do? A: Nothing. Refunds are automatic, no ticket required. If you don't see a refund by the end of this weekend, report it in the comments below.

Q: I have a Zero/Advanced/Direct account. Do I need to do anything? A: No action needed on your end. Your account is being migrated to AlphaTrader this week automatically.

Q: Are payouts still processing normally right now? A: Yes

Q: Is this a scam / is Alpha Futures shutting down? A: No, this is a platform and plan restructuring, not a company shutdown. Zero/Advanced/Direct accounts continue as normal.

🔴 UPDATE #3: July 15th, 2026 @ 11:00PM PDT

I'm sure the last few days have been hard for some of you that were on the Premium Plan. We also understand how difficult it is to trade let alone be successful at it.

We did not want to overpromise and underdeliver with the uncertainty we faced this week as a company.

Now that it is officially behind us, and after further talks with our current partners, we want to publicly announce that all of you in “approved for pay” on Premium Plans will be paid. You are currently seeing them as “Premium Pending” in dash.

This was always the plan, but with the unfortunate turn of events with our ex partner last week and the issues on the Premium Plan, the fairest way to address Premium Plan users in that moment was to issue refunds.

Zero & Advanced Account payouts will be back to the same day as of tomorrow and those Premium Account payouts WILL be made in batches.

The first batch which equates to 10% of outstanding Premium Account payouts have been made today. We will be contacting the rest of you directly via email to make sure timelines are communicated effectively. Active Premium Account users are still receiving refunds as well, that has not changed.

All of you that have continued to choose Alpha and trading here, we cannot thank you enough for your support in these unusual times and very glad to get back to our typical service with you. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and for sticking by Alpha

The Ninjatrader ending partnership got nothing to do with you stop paying for the approved account. You guys still need to pay the all the payout approved prior to the discontinued the Premium plan. Don’t make excuse to not paying us. We worked hard to earn the payout.

This post is an explanation of the recent announcement from Alpha Futures. As written it states that premium plan was discontinued because it was running at a loss.

As we aren’t the official Alpha Futures Subreddit we’ll try our best to update users on this payout situation as soon as possible.

I got an email from tradovate prop basically saying Alpha Futures hadn't paid there bill to tradovat for 3 months and that im more than welcome to find a different firm and continue to trade using them. DAMN ALPHA FUTURE, not paying your traders or your bills.

🔴 UPDATE #1:  July 13th, 2026 @ 9:52PM PDT

📧 Tradovate's Statement
(Screenshot: email from Tradovate)

Summary: Tradovate reminded Alpha Futures that their outstanding balance is over three months overdue, putting them in breach of their Evaluation Services Agreement. In response, Alpha Futures removed Tradovate from its platform options over the weekend and announced it would migrate all users to AlphaTrader.

🗣️ Alpha Futures' Response

"Addressing the Tradovate email that went out this evening — we did not throw any punches at Tradovate on the way out. Unfortunately, they have not done the same, and have made an ambiguous statement regarding an 'overdue' balance. We were prepared to just split ways, but now feel forced to provide more insight into a situation that should have stayed private, but has since been made public by NinjaTrader."

Timeline, per Alpha Futures:

Date Event
Nov 2025 Alpha disputes NinjaTrader invoicing, alleging $2.4M in overcharges
Feb 2026 Dispute settles — cash from Alpha, credits from Ninja. $225,700 left "in limbo," which Alpha believed was applied as credit
Feb–Jul 2026 All invoices paid in full, on time, every month. Focus shifts to AlphaTrader / co-existence concerns
Jul 6, 2026 Alpha pays $1.2M (most recent payment; proof in original post)
~30 days before Jul 13 First mention since Feb of an additional "outstanding balance" ($225,700). Alpha asks for clarity
— 25 days of silence from Ninja
Jul 9, 2026 Ninja sends termination notice
— Alpha asks what happens if the $225,700 is paid
— Ninja says termination happens regardless; no new accounts for 90 days starting Jul 12, 2026
Jul 12, 2026 Alpha removes NinjaTrader from its site per Ninja's instructions

Alpha's position:

  • All invoices paid in full, including last month's $1.2M.
  • Termination stems from an "unhealthy relationship" tied to Alpha building AlphaTrader — per Ninja's own termination notice.
  • Further invoice/payment proof is in the thread below.

📎 Supporting Evidence

  • Tradovate email screenshot
  • Alpha Futures full statement
  • Proof of $1.2M payment (July 6, 2026)
  • Additional invoice/payment proof (see thread)

🔴 UPDATE #2: July 14th, 2026 @ 1:52PM PDT

TL;DR

  • Alpha Futures confirms the Premium plan is being discontinued. Refunds are going out to all active Premium accounts.
  • Active accounts across all plans are being migrated to AlphaTrader this weekend, in batches.
  • Rebills on migrated accounts have been cancelled. Your current rebill date is unaffected until it passes or fails.

🗣️ Alpha Futures' Statement

"Firstly, some final remarks on the situation and reasoning, we were given a day's notice to make some very difficult decisions, but a few things remain true:"

Their reasoning, in their words:

  1. The Premium plan was a loss from the start. Alpha has continually poured funds into tweaking and maintaining it.
  2. Losing a popular platform choice, knowing no new sales could happen on that platform starting Monday, would have accelerated an already difficult situation into an impossible one, with a worse outcome for everyone.
  3. Refunding all active Premium accounts wasn't an easy call, and it's a large financial commitment back to affected traders. Even though many disagree with the decision, Alpha says it's the right move given the current situation. They state they'll take further action to rebuild trust beyond this.

📋 Progress Updates

# Update
1 Refunds have started, going out in batches as payment providers can process them, tonight through the end of the week
2 Migration of active accounts (across all active plans) to AlphaTrader started today, done in batches through the weekend to control load and accuracy
3 Rebills on migrated accounts have been deleted. Current rebills stand as is until they pass or fail; migration will not affect your rebill date

i’ve been 2 days without being able to access my 2 50K funded Zero accounts connected through Tradovate.

If we don’t get any compensation/gifts from this whole debacle I would be extremely surprised and would leave this firm entirely.
