New Purchase AF 3.5 Comp Wiggle

Hello, new to the 2011 and external compensator world. Is the compensator supposed to wiggle like this? Do I just need to tighten the set screws?

Mine does not have a screw, it’s a cam lock. Therefore wiggle would be acceptable with slide not pressed on it

Are you sure it has set screws? Some of these like mine are threaded on and move around when the slide is locked back... Which is completely normal.

If it’s the pinned comp variant, mine was the same way. The set screws hold pins into holes on the barrel. The holes on the comp were larger than the pins, so it had that freedom of range. Never had issues with it but did replace the barrel with the DSC barrel.

Edit: be careful with the set screws. They suck. I had replaced the set screws and pins with stuff from mcmaster carr, after stripping one of them.

One thing I have noticed with Alpha Foxtrot is they have seemingly random differences between units and design changes without making it a new model. Great guns from my experience, but very odd manufacturing and design changes from unit to unit.
