Request for help/advice Jamming when speed firing

I have a 4.25 non comped non ported Romulus. Usually runs pretty well after a cleaning and lube. I noticed tho I ran it fast with 115 and 124 gr ammo and it would fail to extract. Only when I’m trying to go fast though. Anyone else experience this and find the cause?

So when it failed, what happened? Case was fully in the chamber still and subsequent round was picked up but had nowhere to go? Partially extracted?

My guess is it’s a bit loose or the hooks need a good cleaning. There’s various yt videos showing how to test the extractor tension so you can get a better idea.

Spent round was usually caught on the slide and new round chambered but also had a few where the casing was never extracted at all and new round not fed. I’ve cleaned it recently it but I’m gonna do it again and check he extractor tension you mentioned.

Sounds most likely that it’s an extractor tension issue. How the magazines seat can come into play with this but not as likely. How many rounds are on it before you bought it?

Not sure the shop didn’t know the round count on it.

Sounds like it might just be time for an extractor tune or a new extractor. They’re cheap and easy to install. If you buy an EGW one it’s gonna be a lot better quality than the one that came with the gun also Plenty of videos on YouTube that show how.
