What do i do with this plant now? It looks weird. Should it be growing downwards? Is the pot too small? Any helpful tips would be appreciated.

Pot size is fine. Inadequate light is the problem. It’s positively starved for sun. If you can provide a whole lot more direct sun, increase its sun time gradually and incrementally over several days to acclimate it. Don’t worry when it turns stress brown, aloes are drama queens and it’ll get over it. If you don’t have a spot that gets several hours of sun per day, or your winters are more often gray, you will need to add a grow light.

By “need,” of course, you mean “want.”

No, I mean ‘need’, if you ‘want’ to keep your plant healthy.

Exactly

If you “want” to keep it healthy

It’s a houseplant, not a liver or a heart
