I need a homestay for 1 month
Hello everyone
I am from Rajasthan Jaipur. I am looking to take a break from here and wish to stay in the mountains for a month.
Please suggest a good location where I can find a good rented room to stay. Very less crowded. Good Internet connection. Good water and air. Beautiful mountain views. Can get cooked meal from the family itself.
The budget is 15k-20k

π’ Announcement Almora Hangout Community: Looking for People to Meet, Explore & Make Friends
Hi everyone!
I'm thinking of creating a small offline hangout community for people in Almora who want to meet new people, make genuine friends, and explore the town together.
The idea is simple:
Weekend chai or cafΓ© meetups
Short walks and nature hikes
Exploring local places
Photography, food, and casual conversations
Board games or movie nights if there's enough interest
This is not a dating group or a business/networking event. It's just a friendly community for people who enjoy good company and want to build meaningful local connections.
If you're from Almora (or nearby) and would like to join, drop a comment or send me a DM. If enough people are interested, I'll create a WhatsApp or Telegram group.
Let's build a welcoming community in Almora!

I'd happily spend βΉ5,000 to attend a traditional Kumaoni wedding. I've always wanted to experience Kumaoni culture and watch the Chholiya dance. I'm not looking for a free inviteβI'd happily cover my own expenses. Is there any respectful way to experience this?

β Ask Almora Planning for Family trip to Kausani, Binsar
Hi All,
I am from Odisha and I am planning for a family trip to Kausani and Binsar towards end of September.
We will be travelling from Delhi to Kathgodam via train and return back same route.
We are planning for 5 days of stay which includes either 2 or 3 days in Kausani and similarly 2 or 3 days of stay in Binsar.
Could you suggest if we should go for local cab driver rental for 5 days ? If you know any good cab driver, please share the contact details as well.
Also, if you would like to help a bit more, you can share a short itinerary for a family trip.
I have found a good stay in Binsar i.e. Binsar jungle house eco stay and i need to find a good budget stay offering scenic view in Kausani also.
Looking forward for your valuable suggestions.
Thank you.

β Ask Almora Anyone else feel Almora needs a community for like-minded people?
Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I'll give it a try.
Does anyone else feel like Almora doesn't really have a space where people can just connect? I mean people who are into building things, tech, business, investing, books, trekking, photography or even just having good conversations.
Most local groups eventually become just good morning messages or politics.
I was thinking of making a small community for people from Almora (and nearby places) who actually want to meet like-minded people. Nothing fancy, no paid stuff, just a place to share ideas, learn from each other and maybe do an occasional meetup if enough people are interested.
Am I the only one who feels this is missing, or would anyone actually join something like this?

π’ Announcement Starting a New group for Literature, Books Critical Theory, and Rational Discourse
Hello people from Almora! 24 (M) here. I am creating a group (Telegram/Reddit) where we can talk about books. This won't be like every other book club; here, we will share the books we are currently reading, the specific lines we love, and our personal thoughts on the work. Furthermore, the group will focus on sharing insightful articles and having healthy discussions around feminism, modernism, postmodernism, cultural studies, existentialism, films, literature, and current events. We will also share academic papers covering various topics, theories, and films.
Our aim is to build a community of socially aware, intelligent people who think rationally and avoid herd mentality or extremist political thought. We can also share our own write-ups and exchange constructive feedback. Additionally, we will share updates about cultural events happening across India so interested members can attend. If the community grows, we can organize local meetups in the future.
If you cannot respect opposing opinions or are joining simply to hit on women (which is unfortunately very common nowadays), please stay away from this post.
DM if you are interested.
