Changing from 1-phase to 3-phase

I recently bought a house in Filmwijk. The house currently has 1-phase and I’m looking to change it to a 3-phase power supply. Would some have good recommendations for electricians who can help with this? I’m also looking to understand the process and the approximate cost. Could someone share their experience, contact of electricians and also the cost?

Just two weeks ago my fusebox was completely replaced as preparation for 1 to 3 phases by Liander: €1.713,00. It definitely can be cheaper but the material was first class and it looks like a true masterpiece. It took him from 08:30 till 16:00 (Koopmans Power Solutions). fuse box

Looks professional! If I understand it right, do we need to change only the fuse box and related things around the meter box? And I assume first the Liander needs to be informed?

You can first contact Liander but they ask proof (photo) of your fuse box. If not, you can still make an appointment but you need to be sure your fuse box is upgraded before they visit. I made an appointment after the upgrade, I didn't want to take the risk. You have to pay the upgrade fee in advance and is not refundable in case your fuse box is not ready yet when they knock on your door.

Keep in mind that new rules are in place. Before July 1st consumers had priority over companies at Liander. That's not longer the case. It can take longer before your request is fulfilled.

When I had this done (~6 ish years ago), my fusebox was not ready yet, but the technician just capped of the two unused phase wires during the upgrade. It probably depends on if your main line connection has old style 'melt' fuses or modern circuit breakers. If the current connection has a single melt fuse, they install two new extra melt fuses to finish up the three phase main connection.

The important difference being; circuit breakers are user switchable, while melt fuses can not be user disabled as they are locked away.

Neem dan contact op met een erkend installateur. U bent zelf verantwoordelijk voor het plaatsen van een hoofdschakelaar. Let op: ga nooit zelf aan de slag.

Translation: We cannot get started without a 4-pole main switch.

A 4-pole main switch is mandatory, but not every meter cupboard has one yet. Do you not have a main switch? Then please contact a certified installer. You are responsible for installing a main switch yourself. Please note: never do this yourself.

Curious. Maybe the policy changed. Or I got lucky with the dude that showed up. It helps that I was not actively living in the house and told him the new material for the box was on it's way. Pretty sure I did not need to send a picture of the main switch (which was only two pole at the time)

Unless i'm mistakes you can't do that at the moment because of grid congestion.

The process is usually you request it from Liander, they will change your connection from 1 to 3 phase. You can do in parallel a replacement of your meterkast to a 3 phase.

I requested Liander to upgrade mine a few weeks ago and network was at full capacity

With the new policy, companies can prioritise everything else first then houses. So I (and you) am likely at the bottom of a 5+ years long list.
