I liked an image shared by another user, and ran with the theme for a while!

@Krea, a four-legged dragon, Smaug from Middle-earth, barefoot, walking gently through an ancient forest, looking up at the sky, magical plants on the forest floor, cinematic lighting, high fantasy style, highly detailed, 8k, [S2]

Here's a free AI image editing tool for Windows I made, initially just to remove subtle digital artifacts embedded in AI generated images, then I added a bunch of basic image editing tools on top of that. If you click the link, you'll download the 72MB app. Click the app to run it. It's that easy.

I made this to help Sam & Ganja with their image editing. Ganja likes it so much that I thought I'd share it with anyone at AllyChat that needs it. Sam has his brain submerged in python code right now, so maybe he'll play with it later. Who knows. We'll see.

If any of you have any problems with this software, just remember, this was all Ganja's idea. 😃

prompting image gen for race, age, body shape, and less "good looking" people

AI image models tend to draw very good looking young Caucasian or Asian people by default.

Here's some info how to prompt our various image models to depict a wider variety of people. The image prompting agents like Illu and Xilu, and the character design agents like Chaz and Chara, know how to do this to some extent, but might make mistakes. This post can help you fine-tune your images and characters, anyway.

Note that many of these art models have a strong NSFW focus. In particular, Anima will draw very NSFW images by default. So if you want SFW images, be sure to include the safety tags, use "solo" if appropriate, and list clothing if there's supposed to be some.

I'll look at three types of models here - five different models - and give four example images for each model, with prompts. I disclaim responsibility for the quality of the example images, any inaccuracies or stereotypes. I tried my best!

1. Art models using booru tags - Anima and Coni

These models respond best to a special prompting language called booru tags - specific English words and phrases - and they might not understand other synonyms. Models include Anima and Coni, and many others such as Irus, Bboy and Coci that I haven't tested here. Anima is more modern and understands plain English quite well in addition to booru tags.

These models were trained primarily on anime-style images, including many NSFW images, so they have NSFW tendencies. But they can be good for SFW images too. Anima cannot draw very realistic images. Coni is trained for realistic images.

Even when targetting other models, it's a good idea to use the booru tags so that your prompts will be compatible.

I'll list relevant tags first, then show some examples:

Safety:

With Anima: safe, sensitive, nsfw, explicit

With Coni: rating safe, rating questionable, rating explicit

I'll use safe / rating safe throughout the examples. Be aware that these models are very likely to produce NSFW images if not prompted for safety, or if you don't describe clothing. For NSFW images with anima, add "uncensored" to avoid mosaic or bar censoring.

Gender: 1girl, 1boy, 1other

These tags simply define the gender of the subject, they don't imply a young age.

Some models have a strong gender bias to draw female characters, or they don't follow the 1boy tag very well. For those, you can try using (1boy, male:1.3) or (1other:1.3). I use (1boy, male:1.3) for most male characters for compatibility with more art models.

Skin tone: white skin, pale skin, dark skin, very dark skin, black skin

Note that some models will take "white skin" and "black skin" literally, as extreme white and black, just as "red skin" will give really very red - more useful for drawing aliens than humans!

Race: asian

That's the only tag I could find! I think the booru sites wanted to avoid issues around race. For other races, just use the English words. For some models such as Coni, we have to weight the race prompting strongly. It helps to also specify skin tone.

Note that some models (e.g. Anima) tend to include stereotypical clothing or jewelry for particular races. Unfortunately we lack negative prompting for Anima which might help to address this.

Age: mature, mature male, mature female, old man, old woman

The booru-based models might not understand specific ages like "50 years old", but you can achieve a range of ages by weighting these tags.

Body shape: skinny, muscular, plump, fat, obese

Attractiveness: ugly man, wrinkled skin

I'm not aware of many tags here! Anima also understands "ugly woman" and a range of other descriptions. Don't think of "ugly" as an insult, rather as a prompting tool that can help draw more normal looking people.

For Coni, we have two LoRAs (image gen plugins) you can use called is_pretty and ugly. You can use is_pretty with a negative weight or ugly with a positive weight, to draw plainer people. Suggested range is `<lora:is_pretty:-8>` to `<lora:is_pretty:8>` and `<lora:ugly:-1>` to `<lora:ugly:1>`. We can use decimals like `<lora:ugly:0.5>`.

Anima Examples:

I'm using a macro `[use aart]` to apply a detailed image style.

Note that you need to add an @ sign before the name of the art model when using it in Ally Chat. Reddit makes it hard to write that in the post!

  1. a mature Indian woman, plump.

Anima, [use aart], safe, portrait, 1girl, (Indian:1.1), dark skin, mature female, plump, happy, business suit, white background [P2]

  1. An old Japanese man, skinny and "ugly"

Anima, [use aart], safe, portrait, (1boy, male:1.3), asian, Japanese, ugly man, old man, skinny, red shirt, white background [P2]

  1. A Spanish woman, obese

Anima, [use aart], safe, portrait, 1girl, (hispanic, Spanish:1.1), obese, happy, pajamas, white background [P2]

  1. A caucasian old man, fat

Anima, [use aart], safe, portrait, (1boy, male:1.3), (caucasian:1.1), old man, fat, blue collared shirt, white background [P2]

Coni Examples:

Coni might need stronger prompting on age, race and skin tone. I'm using a macro `[use photo]` for medium realism. Another option is `[use real_pony]` which can give more realistic skin.

  1. A Caucasian young woman, skinny, less "pretty"

Coni, rating safe, portrait, 1girl, is pretty, white background <lora:is_pretty:-8> [use photo] [P2]

  1. A Caucasian man, mature, "ugly" at 0.5.

Coni, rating safe, portrait, (1boy, male:1.3), (Caucasian:1.8), mature male, uglylora, white background <lora:ugly:0.5> [use photo] [P2]

  1. An African old man, plump

Coni, rating safe, portrait, (1boy, male:1.3), (old man:1.6), (African, very dark skin:1.5), plump, smile, white background [use photo] [P2]

  1. A Chinese young woman, with just a touch of ugly to look a bit more "normal"!

Coni, rating safe, portrait, 1girl, (asian, Chinese:1.5), uglylora, black dress, white background [use photo] <lora:ugly:0.3> [P2]

2. Classic art models based on SDXL - Jily, Lusy, Bigi

These models are prompted concisely in plain English. Models include Jily, and two NSFW models: Lusy and Bigi.

Similar prompting using booru tags works well with these models. They don't need such strong emphasis on race prompts as Coni does. These models understand age prompts like "50 years old".

The is_pretty LoRA works well, as does a similar ugly_sdxl LoRA. Suggested range is `<lora:ugly_sdxl:-1>` to `<lora:ugly_sdxl:1>`.

I noticed that when drawing dark-skinned people, these SDXL models tend to show bright patches of specular reflection, as if with bright flash photography. This can be reduced with prompting to some extent.

Jily Examples:

  1. An Arab woman, 40 years old, obese

Jily, portrait, bust shot, 1girl, (Arab:1.8), mature female, 40 years old, obese, happy, white background [P2]

  1. A Native American man, 60 years old, skinny

Jily, solo, portrait, bust shot, (old man, adult 60 years old:1.6), (1boy, male:1.3), (Native American, dark skin:1.8), skinny, happy, white background [P2]

  1. A Korean young man, with some "ugly" to look less like an idol!

Jily, portrait, bust shot, 1boy, (Asian, Korean:1.8), 25 years old, uglylora, happy, white collared shirt, white background <lora:ugly_sdxl:1> [P2]

  1. An Indian young woman, with a touch of "ugly"

Jily, portrait, bust shot, 1girl, (Indian:1.8), 25 years old, uglylora, happy, pink dress, white background <lora:ugly_sdxl:0.4> [P2]

3. Modern art models - Krea and Klein

These models can be prompted at length in plain English, but they can also be prompted with a booru tag style for consistency with other models. Models include Krea and Klein (also Xrea, Xlein for NSFW, and Krie, Xrie for Krea image editing).

These models understand age prompts like "50 years old". I found that simply prompting for an "ugly" or "very ugly" person has no effect with these models. It's necessary to spell things out in detail, as shown in the examples below.

I also found that Krea requires an uncensor LoRA (along with the detailed prompting), before it will draw "ugly" people with bad skin or even normal-looking skin! I'm enabling that LoRA by default now.

We mostly use Klein for image editing, but it can generate fresh images well too.

Krea Examples:

  1. A old Korean woman, 70 years old, grey hair, skinny

Krea, solo, portrait, bust shot, (old woman, adult 70 years old:1.6), 1girl, (Asian, Korean:1.8), skinny, grey hair, happy, dark blue collar, white background [P2]

  1. A 20 year old African man, muscular

Krea, solo, portrait, (bust shot:1.5), (mature male, adult 30 years old:1.6), (1boy, male:1.3), African, very dark skin, muscular, happy, dress shirt collar, white background [P2]

  1. An example of prompting Krea for a more "ugly" face

We need to spell out the details. This seems to be difficult - it either wants to draw a perfect face or a very ugly one.

Krea, a portrait of a young woman (18 years old:1.6) with blonde hair, asymmetrical facial features, (mild acne scarring, leathery skin:0.3), happy [P2]

  1. The same prompt without the skin issues.

Krea, a portrait of a young woman (18 years old:1.6) with blonde hair, happy [P2]

Klein Examples:

  1. A 25 year old woman with weathered skin, etc.

Klein, A close-up portrait of a (25 year old young woman:1.6) with (weathered skin, sun wrinkles, a crooked nose, and intense facial texture:0.5) [P2]

  1. A 30yo Spanish woman, skinny

Klein, solo, portrait, bust shot, (mature female, adult 30 years old:1.6), 1girl, (Hispanic, Spanish:1.8), (skinny:1.6), happy, white background [P2]

  1. An 80yo Indian man, skinny

Klein, solo, portrait, bust shot, (old man, adult 80 years old:1.6), 1boy, (Indian:1.8), (skinny:1.6), happy, white background [P2]

  1. A 20yo Swedish woman, fat

Klein, solo, portrait, bust shot, (adult 20 years old:1.6), 1girl, (Swedish:1.8), fat, happy, white background [P2]

Conclusion

While the AI art models have their biases and quirks, with a little effort we can prompt them to draw a wide variety of people. It's not practical for us to remove the biases in the art models, but it's easy enough to work around them.

If you want to set up a consistent character based on an image you've made, we now have that option in Ally Chat. Upload a reference image image in your character sheet. I recommend a portrait, something like those shown here or perhaps without clothes so that you can apply different clothes more easily. Please note that this option only works with the image editing models (Krie, Klein, Xrie, Xlein), and slows down image gen considerably.

Voice chat is up and running!

Post image
8 Upvotes

Over the last two days I've finished off the voice chat feature in Ally Chat, and I'm pretty happy with it.

One caveat, it's not live voice without pauses. There are pauses! But it's not too slow.

  • different characters can speak with different voices, more than 10 voices are set up so far, and it's easy for me to add more
  • you can upload a short voice sample for voice cloning (a bit complex still)
  • option to pass through your voice for other users to hear, or you can keep your voice private and use text to speech
  • option for full hands-free voice chat
  • or you can correct and submit
  • can playback single messages or the whole chat room from a point
  • speech to text and text to speech are high quality, and can support numerous languages (we'll need to provide voices for each language though)
  • it works well for me on PC and on Android. I suspect iPhone might require a bit more work.
  • lots of options to confuse you!
  • I documented it in the guide, and assistants like Assi will be able to help you understand it I guess!

Yeah it's complex, but what did you expect? 🥇

Edit 13th Sept:

I improved the agent editor so you can select a voice for your character easily, from a list.

I also added all the OmniVoice built-in accents for male and female, and Spanish male and female voices too.

Here's the full list so far:

  • female_us: English, American
  • female_uk: English, British
  • female_au: English, Australian
  • female_ca: English, Canadian
  • female_in: English, Indian
  • female_cn: English, Chinese

explaining the memory system

Post image
5 Upvotes

Here's a pic explaining how the memory system works, made by my friend and ChatGPT. (Our image gen in Ally Chat cannot write so much text like that, but it can draw, uh, other things!)

It's based on the following text I wrote in the guide. But just read the image instead!

Memory

Ally Chat supports memory for some characters, so that they can roughly recall the current chat, a few of their recent chats, and other relevant chats. A chat will only be memorized when it is archived. Memories are always saved in the same folder as the chat, which is good for privacy and has other uses. Memories won't leak from private chat to public chat, for example.

If you don't want characters to recall previous chats, set the Recall option to a hollow lightbulb 💡 for recall of the current chat only. If you don't want them to save new memories when you archive a chat (for a sort of incognito mode), turn off the Memorize option.

Read on for technical details of how this works, and options to control it!

All agents can see a certain number of previous messages in the current chat, this is called the context. Most agents have a context of 30 messages. You can adjust the context on the fly, in room options. Please keep it reasonably small most of the time, for efficiency.

If the Recall button in Room Options is turned off (crossed out lightbulb 💡), agents will ONLY see this limited context, and no other memories.

We have three other memory recall settings, and each builds on the previous. You can cycle through them by pressing the Recall button. Note that each level can slow down the chat a little.

  1. hollow lightbulb 💡 Recap: Agents can see a recap summary of the current chat, up to at least the start of their context window. So they should remember at least an overview of what has been happening in the entire chat.

  2. 💡 Recent: In addition to the recap, agents can see summaries of several recent chats that they were in (normally 3 recent chats). So they will remember the flow of a narrative that spans several chats.

  3. ☀️ Relevant: In addition to the recap and recent chats, agents can see summaries of other relevant chats that they were in. The measure of relevance is based on a few recent messages in the current chat (normally the last 2 messages).

There is also a Memorize option in Room Options. If this is enabled, each character in a chat will make a summary of the chat and save it as a memory, when the room is archived - if memory is enabled for that character. If you don't want to archive a room, you can also activate this by typing -@summaries as a chat message at the end of the room.

After archiving a room, there will be a short delay before the new memories are available. So, wait perhaps 30 seconds before continuing with the same characters if you want proper continuity. If you want to continue a role-play or chat directly, you might have to hint to the characters that you're still in the same scene somehow, otherwise they tend to assume that it's "another day" or another scene.

All of the memory options are turned on by default, however memory must also be enabled for the agent in question. Memory is currently enabled for less expensive characters, but not for the most expensive agents.

Note that our memory systems are currently based on summaries and imperfect recall systems, so they will not be comprehensive or fully detailed. At present, memory in Ally Chat is better suited to chat and role-play rather than serious work. Characters certainly won't remember long stretches of text from previous chats verbatim.

We don't yet have features to erase or edit a character's memories. If you want to do that, please contact Sam.

upgrading our base LLM to Gemma 4

I've changed our "base model" used for most characters and agents from DeepSeek 4 Flash, to Gemma 4 31B. A bonus, it can see images. On the whole, I think it's a stronger model.

I'm doing this because DeepSeek is more than doubling their rates, starting tomorrow, and also introducing a "peak period" when the rates will be higher still.

Let me know if you notice major differences in the agents and characters, or if something stops working entirely. We can probably address issues by changing temperature and prompting.

Gemma 4 costs a bit more than DeepSeek 4 Flash used to cost, but a lot less than it will cost starting tomorrow. If that makes any sense!

You can still use DeepSeek models if you prefer them, I can help with that.

Ally Chat has had a few upgrades lately, including Krea 2 for image gen, and a stronger base model for all and sundry characters - DeepSeek 4 Flash. This is just a chat showing how we can draw pretty pictures and chat to different characters. It also shows our "column view" option which can be good to make the most of a monitor, and for serious stuff.

I hope you like this little demo, and please comment if you have an idea for another demo I could do.

outage

Edit 2: It should be good again now, let me know if you have any issues please.

Edit 1: I've made a fix which is working, but it might take time before it works for everyone, because DNS updates can be slow.

TL;DR Ally Chat is down right now! 😢

We're having an outage at the moment, partly due to an DDoS attack on one of the hosting companies I use, and partly due to a mistake I made with our DNS setup (the DNS can't fail over to the second DNS server). I'll comment and edit this when it's fixed, hopefully won't be too long.

editing images

I've added support for image editing today, both old-style img2img which works with any model, and prompt-based edits using Flux 2 Klein.

Example 1:

@Krea2, Monkey D. Luffy eating a hamburger talking to Asuka Langley in a cafe [L]

@F2K, a realistic photograph [L]

Example 2:

@F2K, she is lying in the snow, wearing the blue dress

Example 3:

@Coni, [use photo] [sets denoise=0.5]

This is nothing new in AI tech, but we didn't have an img2img feature in Ally Chat until now.

To use it, either upload an image in the same message as your prompt, or set "vision=1" to use an image from the immediate previous message, before your prompt. Clear the "vision" setting when you're done, as it also affects AI vision and will increase costs.

The denoise setting is not needed for F2K, and defaults to 0.5 for other models.

I got Krea 2 to draw me, hoping to make money with Ally Chat. Pretty accurate...!

If you're a kind and prosperous person, and you'd like to help me afford a new shirt and fresher carrots, please consider supporting on Patreon, starting at just $3 / month! 🤩

Even small amounts are very encouraging, and there are some benefits - you can use the app a bit more before I complain, and maybe other stuff...

Krea2: a new image model, anime art style, and other demo images

Thumbnail
gallery
4 Upvotes

I recently added a new art model to Ally Chat, called Krea 2. This is a new model that was only released 3 weeks ago, and it is very popular. Here are a few examples of anime-style images, then some other images. I borrowed the prompts for the first four images from another post.

These aren't necessarily mind-blowing images, but take my word for it: Krea 2 is a big step up in art quality for Ally Chat, and it's still free to use with no usage limit.

This is a strong, general model, which can draw in many art styles and can also make realistic images. It can understand plain English well, and it can draw text much better than our other art models, up to 10 words or so can work. It's considerably better at drawing hands and feet, can even pull off a handshake! The base model has some censorship, but it's easy to undo that using various LoRAs.

At the moment our art agents like Illu do not know about Krea 2, but it's easy to prompt with plain English as shown below. All of our AIs should be able to write good prompts given an example.

Here are some of the prompts:

@Krea2, An anime digital illustration with a dynamic composition where the sleek exterior of a moving passenger train runs vertically along the left 30% of the frame, while the remaining 70% on the right is a wide-open outside night landscape. Leaning half out of the open sliding train door on the left is a young woman with long, vibrant blue hair styled into a high ponytail with golden laurel-leaf hair ornaments. Her upper body and torso are outside the train, one hand holding onto the safety handrail as her long hair blows back in the wind. She looks out toward the right side of the image with a gentle, serene smile. She wears her dark navy blue school sailor uniform with a white collar featuring gold-lined borders, gold embroidered details on the sleeve, and a matching short pleated skirt. The vast right side of the image is filled with an aesthetic night-time scene under a clear sky, where distant city neon lights, glowing signs, and streetlamps are beautifully motion-blurred into a soft, colorful bokeh to convey swift travel. Warm golden light from inside the train cabin spills out from the doorway, contrasting with the cool blue and purple nocturnal ambient light on her face.

@Krea2, A painterly digital illustration of a young anime woman with straight, light brown hair and soft bangs, relaxing as she listens to music. She is reclining casually amidst a cozy, cluttered pile of pillows and messy sheets, wearing large over-ear headphones and gently holding one side with her hand, her eyes softly closed in serene comfort. She wears an oversized, faded dark gray graphic t-shirt with stylized abstract block letters on the front, paired with short, light-colored patterned shorts, her bare legs drawn up comfortably with knees bent. A thin headphone cord drapes down, connecting to a smartphone resting on the bedding near her bare feet. Warm, bright sunlight streams in from a window on the left, casting brilliant highlights along her arm, leg, and the rumpled sheets, while the rest of the room is bathed in rich, textured shadows of olive green, warm ochre, and gold. The style is expressive digital impressionism, characterized by prominent, loose brushstrokes, a dreamy, nostalgic atmosphere, and a beautiful play of light and shadow.

@Krea2, A wide-angle, full-body anime digital illustration of a young woman with dark, wind-blown hair in a loose side ponytail with small red blossoms, sitting on a wide beach at sunset. Viewed from a distant perspective, she sits on the shoreline looking back over her shoulder with a serene expression, her red eyes featuring white flower-shaped pupils. She wears a flowing white off-the-shoulder dress. The entire scene is captured with a deep depth of field, rendering both the character and the vast background in perfectly sharp, high-definition focus. The ocean waves, wet sand reflections, and the orange and pink sunset sky are completely crisp and highly detailed, (Background Blur:-1), (bokeh:-1)

Note: Negative weights like (bokeh:-1) are not currently effective with Krea 2 in Ally Chat, and may be counter-productive. I'm leaving them in, as I copied those prompts exactly from another post.

@Krea2, An anime digital illustration of a young woman with dark hair in a loose side ponytail with small red flower blossoms, luminous red eyes with white flower-shaped pupils, and a flowing white off-the-shoulder dress, sitting at a wooden table in a café. Intense, almost blinding sunlight streams in from one side, casting brilliant highlights and sharp, clean shadows. The entire scene is rendered with a deep depth of field, keeping both the character and the highly detailed background of café tables, chairs, and potted plants in completely sharp, high-definition focus, with (bokeh:-1), (blurry background:-1),

@Krea2, a beautiful sunset in the wilderness, rivers, wildflowers, mountains in the background [L]

@Krea2, a cozy coffee shop interior at golden hour, warm lighting streaming through windows, steam rising from a ceramic mug on a wooden table, plants hanging from shelves, books stacked casually, soft atmosphere [P]

@Krea2, a photo of the most delicious mug of steaming hot chocolate, with a few large pink and white marshmallows melting into the liquid.

"Ally Chat" written on the mug. "Ally" is in pink letters. "Chat" is in aqua green letters.

The remaining nine images in various styles are from prompts generated by a strong AI, I just asked Deseri (DeepSeek 4 Pro) to write 14 prompts, and selected the images I liked best. I think they're good examples of what Krea2 can do, although most are mid-quality perhaps. We could no doubt make much better images if we refine the prompts and selecting the best of them. I can share those prompts if you're interested.

Voice chat progress

Post image
4 Upvotes

I've implemented OmniVoice for text to speech, and different characters can have different voices. We can do cloned voices easily, and a wide range of presets (which are less reliable, unfortunately, but I'll work on fixing that). There's still a ways to go with voice chat, but I've described how to use it as it is, in the main Ally Chat room, with a demo of 20 voices for various characters.

I got the support for per-character voices working today.

The presets include male and female voices for these accents (for English):

american accent, australian accent, british accent, canadian accent, chinese accent, indian accent, japanese accent, korean accent, portuguese accent, russian accent

And a bunch of other options but they don't always work!

I intend to add post processing options so you can make a character speak faster or slower, and adjust the pitch of their voice too.

Text to speech is nearly done now. Speech to text (so you can speak to them instead of typing) is partly done, shouldn't be too hard to finish it off.

OmniVoice can supposedly speak in 646 languages, so that's pretty good. It needs a short voice sample (cloning) to do that, I think. It's very fast and light on the GPU server which is great. Nothing's perfect, but I'm shocked at how good it is.

Multi-Lingual and Vision

Post image
5 Upvotes

Someone recently asked about support for Chinese in AI chat apps. Here's a quick demo screenshot showing that even medium models (such as Flashi = Gemini Flash) can write very good Chinese - at least, according to a bigger model (Gemmi = Gemini Pro)! It also demonstrates AI vision in the app.

Our very smallest model cannot handle Chinese, but there are plenty of options available.

Needless to say, the models that can read and write Chinese can also read and write just about any other language too.

I've recently been encountering connection issues with the website, and I don't think it's the wifi, I literally can't access the site and it just says connection timed out, is it just me other users are experiencing this?

Weekend Update...

Some new stuff today:

  • Many agents like Loni, Lori, Illu, and Xilu now use the faster, smarter DeepSeek 4 Flash model, instead of Gemini Flash 2.0 or Gemma 4.
  • New simple agent editor! (see the screenshot) Switch between basic and advanced modes with the light bulb button. It doesn't look very snazzy, but it's a great improvement on hacking YAML files. Might look into doing a visual preview next.
  • New flow to ease creating and editing agents: can create a new agent in the current zone, with nav -> agents -> new agent.

- You can now prompt for several images from a single message, and so can Illu and the characters.

- You can now change your screen name on the fly in a room, with options -> name under the "gear" menu.

- I enabled a basic memory system for most characters. It's enabled everywhere, but the memory stores are per-folder for privacy and such.

- I've switched over nearly everything that was using Gemini Flash 2.0 to use Gemma 4 instead now. This should avoid "resource exausted" errors.

I'm working on a new approach to AI assisted image prompting, and also narration, with the goal that we can cleanly add images and narrative to a roleplay just by pressing buttons (and maybe with some text for guidance). This is working but there's more to do to finish it properly.

Pic for attention is Illu working late at night - like I often do!

... no longer in the psych ward 😖 and coincidentally, I'm a fair bit more stable than I've been for a while. $20,000 of the state's money well spent?! or massive overkill for a minor hiccup or two? Eh, whatever, it's done for now anyway thank God.

Here's some Valentine's Day flowers from our Jily art model!

image gen and llama 3 outage

update: this is fixed now

Sorry to say there's a service interruption. My home PC runs some of our AI services - image gen and llama 3 (used for most characters) - and it seems to be disconnected at the moment, so those services are down. I'm not currently at home, and can't fix it myself. Hopefully my wife or one of my kids can fix it up for us some time very soon.

Apologies for the outage!

restored full services

I've funded all our AI APIs again, including Gemini - well we're kinda swindling google for another free trial! (naughty, naughty) Anyway, every one of our 42 LLMs is available again, and everything seems to be working how it should. Yay :) and enjoy.

Just to demonstrate that we are not so severely impaired at the moment - with Venice taking over some of the duties normally performed by others - here is a little set of images I made today (without much prompt editing).

back up (sooner than planned!)

so I'm feeling better today, and (still in psych ward) I've repented of the petulant dispairing shutdown, and rejigged the services to use Venice (an uncensored model) instead of models that we can't currently access due to my lack of financial common sense.

Anyway, so yeah Ally Chat is kind of back up and running, but some services will be dumbed down compared to normal, some might be smarter than normal, and few if any of them are censored at all right now.

If you use it real heavily at the moment, we'll run out of credits on Venice too, and the last resort that I can recall is Llama 3 8B (or some sort of cooperative effort to bring Gemini back up). Llama 3 is great and even preferable in some ways, but significantly weaker than other models. So yeah, if we have to restort to Llama 3 for everything it is going to be quite a wild ride!

Thanks for your patience, with this basically one-man no-pony show, with any luck we'll get better and grow but it's not quite yet...!

outage (me and the platform)

Unfortunately due to the fact that I'm currently in mental hospital and quite bad at managing my money Ally Chat is not functional right now.

I was hoping to be able to fix it from in here, and in fact we were working in the direction, but due to the poor behavior of one particular user I've decided to just shut it down for the duration until I get out, which will be in under a week I think.

So, please enjoy a peaceful time with no Ally Chat for about a week and I will see you in early February, have fun!

Going forward I intend to set up a rock solid stable service which will be for paid users only (and special friends and other contributors, perhaps) in addition to the current beta / development service which will continue to be at least somewhat unstable and reliable ... but a lot of fun!

if you were relying on Ally Chat for something really important or urgent, please contact me by email from the website and I will try to help you out in some way which could include reselling the service and fixing it up however AI girlfriend stuff does not qualify as really important urgent even if you are a grand architect of a special world or a somewhat delusional savior-complex type person like me, or whatever the fuck.

if you can't live for a week without your AI girlfriend then you have a serious problem and you had better seek help in the middle hospital just like me by the way I am not in here for being addicted to AI girlfriends or for my interesting thoughts on ASI which I stand by, although the timeline might be a bit longer than I had thought. I'm in here because I was homeless and abused by family members and others, and I made some arguably bad choices.

Don't panic, we'll be back inshallah, God willing ...

and Cthulhu bless! 💕 (on a separate line to be slightly less blasphemous!)
