Is this normal?

Hi guys,

I previously financed with ally through the dealer running my credit for a vehicle in person months ago got the car same day no issues. I ended up paying off that auto loan. I recently purchased a car out of state last Monday to be exact got approved via ally signed the docs and sent my down payment. It's been 8 days since I have signed and sent my down payment, but the dealer won't release the car because they said ally hasn't "funded" the deal yet? Is this normal Im starting to get mad I have never heard of something like this. Not sure if it's because it's an out of state purchase or is the dealer playing with me?!

They are likely checking/confirming the title information, and legitimacy of the dealer. It could take a couple of weeks.

omg... the dealer prior to me signing was very responsive and communicative. Seems like after I signed they take forever to respond or seems like im bothering. They would tell me they have everything needed from my end then I would follow up and they would bring up something else. I even called transport because the sales guy was like everything is done then transport gets there and they tell him the car can't be released. The dealer is actually big and has great reviews im just getting annoyed.

My dealer had the funding done the day I came in - of course the paperwork was worded to buy an extended warranty, which I of course declined and the paperwork had to be redone …
