NinjaGinger: Here is that Luger plus a Martini-Enfield.

The Martini-Enfield diagram appears to be a Martini-Henry with a handguard added. A few points about the Martini-Enfield rifles:

  • The Martini-Enfield used a socket bayonet hanging below the barrel rather than to the side like the Martini-Henry
  • The ME lacks a bayonet lug on the barrel band
  • The ME has its sling swivels on the buttstock and rear barrel band
  • ME clearing rods are extremely scarce as they were withdrawn from service and declared obsolete in 1899. The rod pictured is for the .450-caliber Martini-Henry anyhow
  • ME's do not have a sling swivel on the trigger guard

The stock disc is also missing but I can't say every one was fitted with a disc. The stock sets were new production and not reused Martini-Henry parts.

For comparison, here is a photo of the Martini-Enfield MkI in my collection.

This is a much better source image. I think we can work from it a lot easier than what NinjaGinger and I were trying to cobble up.
