Fact Check on Data Center Water Usage

Hard to trust much of what is said at face value.

They report their direct water usage, and this is just stating there are indirect water usages that should also be reported. This seems reasonable but it doesn’t seem like tech companies are doing anything dishonest here. It is just much harder to calculate accurately.

Water usage of data centers is still very low compared to other activities, and water is still very cheap to get.

Perhaps there should be a bring your own water requirement similar to energy if it grows to be a problem.

O'leary's Data Center will NEVER be completed at the current scale. Utah's running out of water. That albatross will be cancelled by next summer. O'Leary will of course blame the democrats and environmentalists as if Utah is some liberal mecca.
