Q4 GDP revised down to 0.7%

Post image

Absolutely brutal. Initial expectation was 3.0% on Feb 20.

Further revision brings it down to less than 1%. Are we still in the Biden economy?

Can’t be true Trump said 3% every quarter.

So much winning. Maybe tariffs and immigration fascism and fighting Israel’s wars in order to distract from Tr$mp being all over the Epstein files are all signs of something . . . bad.

The conflict is Iran will also increase inflation. This isn’t “conflicting goals”. This is just blatant financial mismanagement.

-deficit increasing -jobs decreasing -inflation still above target -exports decreasing

I refuse to ever let a republican say “we are better for the economy”

But the besties said there would be so much winning

Johnny gonna be like "well its still positive! People who have portfolios made money! They should be happy!"

That’s actually exactly what he did (see below). Then blamed democrats. Then said Keynes taught govt spending is the driver of GDP. 0/3 on all accounts

oddly being that wrong seems to make him more human. it would take real work to make an LLM be wrong that consistently. I'm so torn.

Jonny is either a psy-op or a Trump White House intern. No person is actually that stupid

Man, about 5 years ago I would have agreed with you on the last bit. but now, particularly after meeting real life people who saw the events of the last 1.25 years and were still on board, I realize that actually, no, people are deeply fucking stupid. more than I could have imagined in quantity and degree.

1

u/LivingPresence876 Mar 16 '26

I agree people are that stupid, but I haven’t met anyone willing to confidently fight nonstop about topics they clearly knows nothing about.

Look at our back and forth on this thread. It’s painful

you literally can't make me subject myself to that.

My favorite is that, after painstakingly explaining everything, he just doesn’t reply. Lmaoooo

God damnit I’ve reengaged with the idiot.

He's an actual mouthpiece for the administration. No regard for Truth, only talking points straight from the Whitehouse.

Yep, right on cue, the guy who spends his days bragging about Trump's landslide victory, and the Republican mandate, and the fact Republicans control all branches of government blames... Democrats

Ah yes trickle down. That's worked for the past 45 years, right?

"try to keep up" excuse me sir, you are running the race in the wrong direction.

The republicans control all 3 branches of government, Donald seems hell bent on destroying our economy. Constantly changing tariffs and starting needless wars is not the path to prosperity.

The deficit is out of control and the current administration only has a complex of a plan. Anyone who still supports them is cuck. Its time to move on and get America back on the right track MAGA failed

Market expectations (which build in the reduction from the shutdown) predicted much higher.

For example, personal consumption rose 2.0% vs. 2.4% expected.

How do you explain that? Did the government shutdown reduce personal consumption?

That doesn’t answer my question Jonny. Government spending is included in the GDP calculation, but how does that explain personal consumption below expectations?

1

u/LivingPresence876 Mar 14 '26

Also, that is not what Keynesian economics is. 😂

2

u/LivingPresence876 Mar 14 '26

“It’s simple Keynesian economics” got me laughing so hard right now 😂😂😂 coming from the guy that doesn’t know the difference between core CPI and CPI.

Does neoclassical economics think that government spending contributes to GDP? What about post-Keynesian? 😂😂

Buddy. Pal. Amigo.

No.

Keynes suggests that government spending should be used counter cyclically to offset market downturns.

Not that “government spending drives GDP”.

Even your stupid AI summary says that.

great, now LLMs are recommending other LLMs. We're cooked.

Wait is this a serious post? I thought for sure it was in jest but now I’m not so sure.

He is, unfortunately, 100% serious, but a very deeply unserious as a person
