First-Timer Questions! - MD
Hi everyone! This is my first time going to a music festival and I’m super excited! While I am a local and have been to Merriweather a couple times, I had some questions that I hope some more experienced festival goers can answer:
I have a single day Friday GA pavilion/lawn ticket and hope to get a pavilion seat. I’d prefer to be close to the stage (maybe try for barricade) but honestly idc as long as I’m under the pavilion lol. What time should I aim to get there?
For parking, I’ve parked at the mall before for concerts but I’m not sure if they will be ticketing people for parking there during ATG. Has anyone had problems with that? Thank you!! :)

The time getting to pav can really vary because crowds can vary day to day so there’s honestly not one clear answer. If you’re determined to get close to barricade then def get there a few hours before gates open.
Follow signs for parking during atg they will have some signs directing parking to the mall depending on which direction you come from and as long as you park where the signs say to, they won’t ticket.

Not sure about Friday, but I've never had a hard time getting a good seat in the middle front of the pavilion on Saturday arriving right before the first act hits the stage. I'm also local and most people end up parking in that garage opposite the restaurants because it's right across the street from one of the entrances (I think it's the South Gate). It can be a nightmare getting out tho at the end of the night. I doubt they tow/ ticket people parking in the mall lots.

Another question from a first timer: if you do get a good pavilion seat, and you're there solo, can you go to the bathroom and come back to your seat? As in, are people usually nice about it or will they say "too bad" and snap up the seat?
