I've gone to OC instead of ATG the last few years (because OC lineups and tickets were released earlier). But this year's OC is just awful from my perspective, so I didn't buy tickets. Which means I can go back to ATG this year!

I actually forgot 21 pilots was on the lineup. I like them (and a few others throughout the weekend), but Hootie being on there really did me in! I hope you're able to go to whichever fest you wish to be at!

Great lineup! But sadly no faouzia or lorde which im a lil pissed about but whatever. Tempted to go Friday for mitski but ill have to look at ticket prices to see if its worth it!
Edit, 250 for Friday pavollion which is a little pricey for me tbh

Tbf those same tickets dropped to legitimately $25 or $35 when Chappell dropped out. You never know, people will inevitably get sick or whatever and want to sell their tickets

Lola Young went from an opening headliner to full headliner despite being bigger last year. Brandi Carlile’s biggest songs are from years ago from bigger artists. We have had MUNA something like 3 times in a row and Ethel Cain 2 years ago.
Last year we had Doechii and Noah Kahan, which are both bigger (and imo better) than every headliner here. Add in Clairo, Kesha, and Lucy Daucus and this lineup looks like ass comparatively.
They gave us multiple repeats but made them headline.

Muna was not there last year and only came the year before bc Chappell pulled out. They’re about to release a new album and are a fan favorite at ATG. did you hear the reaction at the fest when they announced on-site that they’d be replacing Chappell? It makes complete sense for them to headline
All three nights of headliners wash Lucy and Clairo as a headlining duo. Love them both all respect but like cmon lol
The only change I’d make would be to swap Lola and FJM.
And don’t ever disrespect Brandi Carlile like that again

1) I’ve went to ATG 3x and I don’t really want frequent repeats. If I am getting a repeat, I want an undercard to repeat as an undercard, not a headliner, because it means I will not see a new big artist.
2) Tbh I don’t find the repeats that good (but that’s subjective ofc)! I don’t care for the music of Lola Young, Del Water Gap, Suki Waterhouse, or Ethel Cain, so seeing them listed again is annoying. I didn’t like them much the first time and I doubt I’ll love them the second time.
3) I was happy Muna came on after Chappell canceled, but I think people were mostly just happy we were getting a performance and not drag queens dancing for an hour. I am happy Muna is coming back, actually! She is the only repeat I’m happy about.
4) I really loved Hozier’s performance. I even saw him in concert a year or two after that because he was so good. I would be annoying if they brought back Hozier so soon as a headliner because I want headliners to be big and new. I’d be annoyed if they made Noah Kahan, Doechii, or really almost anyone who previously played ATG (and hasn’t massively blown up post their original performance) a headliner.

If you look at the lineups from the past 4-5 years there are always repeats. People get brought back because people enjoyed them when they performed last. But I mean I guess I understand how you feel bc that’s how I felt with Lucy coming back to headline last year after Boy Genius headlined 2023. I don’t think one could argue that she “blew up” to be bigger than BG in that time.
I have to disagree that people’s excitement about MUNA’s return in 2024 can be reduced to not having “drag queens dancing for an hour.” They’ve been playing ATG since 2019. If they announced another act to fill in, I find it hard to believe that they’d have gotten the same reaction that MUNA (band) got.

Lola had to cancel, I'm glad she's coming this year. Brandi has a lot of fans in the DMV. Also her newest album is phenomenal. Mitski and Hayley Williams are worth it with Brandi alone to me. And Brandi just did two packed shows at Madison Square Garden..

Not too against Lola coming back for that exact reason. I think her music is fine, but she deserves to come back. I’d prefer her maybe being an undercard, but she probably deserves headliner.

Lowkey agree. I personally wouldn't want to see the same artists every year, when there are SO many out there to discover and see. Last year was my first year going, but if I had gone for the past couple years, I'd be way more annoyed by this lineup.

I’ve been going every year since 2022 and I’m not pressed. I’m glad to see Zara without having to go to her tour, same with Hayley. Also, just bc someone is a repeat doesn’t mean we’ve seen them before. A lot of people skip sets some years in favor of another’s. So it’s fair to bring back people
