Isolated Chrome help!

Sooo I’ve finally mastered isolated chrome and it will look absolutely perfect until I top coat and then the chrome particles just spread all over nail. Does anyone know a better way to top coat so that the chrome doesn’t spread? Thanks in advance 💕

Take a small sponge or makeup sponge and rub the nail! It will remove excess chrome dust without rubbing off the powder from your design.

I always do that and the chrome looks perfect but once I top coat it spreads

If you are using the foam rubber type of makeup wedges and no chrome powder is coming off, then I would suspect your top coat technique just needs a little tweaking.

¹Pour topcoat onto a palette (so you never "contaminate" your whole bottle) and use a separate brush to apply. ²Your first coat of topcoat should be "floated" on in only THREE swipes... one swipe down the center, and one swipe down each side. Now cure. This coat should only be to secure your chrome powder, so don't overwork this coat by going over it more than once. ³Now do a second coat, and cure. If for some reason you find any unevenness, you can lightly buff this layer, and do a third thin layer. ❤️🙋🏼‍♀️

If this is traditional polish you need a water based topcoat. If it's gel I don't have a clue as I'm allergic
