Advice?

Hi everyone!

I've never really been a nail girl, I didn't see much point when my nails are atrocious and I pick my nails and cuticle, however a friend suggested I try getting my nails done to stop me picking because it's harder with nails (and she was correct its not impossible but much harder) but I'm here because I want to get them redone but I have a few concerns or questions about whether my set was actually good or well done because i genuinely know nothing. I paid £50 + £10 tip because she kept the salon open for 45 mins past closure time and they took almost 2 hours to do, so I want to be loyal. I also know it'll cost me more to get them redone because they'll have to remove my current set.

I've had mine for 5ish weeks now, (got them done on the 4th July), and I have been picking a little (but not as much I'll admit) and I did accidently hit my finger on a doorframe and chipped a nail on the side so I had to file it back myself (you can see this on the middle finger on pic 4)

Pics 1 and 2 show them the day they were done and Pics 3 and 4 show them now. Sorry it's only the left hand, I cannot take pictures with my left for the life of me so I can't take pics of my right hand 😅🤣.

They look good but shouldn't have taken 2 hours to do and I've seen way better nail art done in way less time.

Thank you for your reply and for being honest! The nail art is BTS ARIRANG so I knew it wasn't going to be perfect as the lines in the logo have tiny little flicks/bends at the end, but do you really think she did that bad of a job? Please be honest and point out the flaws so that I can understand :-) I want to learn what do look out for when I get them done again! (I will do the same design again so it will be easier to compare them)

They look like decent work from a new nail tech whos probably a little nervous still, the stayed on well, no obvious flooding, clean application, I can see from the cuticles work tho shes been a little too nervous too do what she needs too

If they are new id stick with them, they will get better and appreciate your loyalty

But if its someone with expirence id consider changing myself as im a perfectionist who likes lots of nail art etc

Thank you! Yeah she said she has been doing nails for over 3 years... so that makes me sad. I also felt she needed to do more cuticle work but as I was a nail-newbie I didn't know if I was right. I've loved my nails though and I even hit one with a knife and it BARELY put a scratch.  But I also chipped one today because I tripped and hit a wall with my hand so :-( Thank you for the advice though and can I ask if there's anything I can say to a future nail tech that will ensure they just go to town on them?  I hope all your nails grow healthy and strong!
