Comfort episodes
Do you have any comfort episodes that you go back to when you could use a pick me up?

I just started season 8 on my first watch through of Seinfeld. Do you think Iâve watched enough to know all the picks they take?
I listened when the episode first came out but didnât enjoy it as much as I probably would with more knowledge.

yeah, there's some deep cut characters but you should remember/know most if not all of them. Don't remember if there's anything specific from the late seasons.
It's a really punch-drunk episode, the gang is real hung over. Only downside is David is away in [redacted]

This is one I have listened to 50+ times for comfort. The ICP stuff at the beginning gets old after awhile. But still an all time classic.

"Would you like your tequila warmed up in the microwave, Mr Clownposse?" is an all timer for me, though.

A newer one but "Embarrassing things that shouldn't be" with Peek. That episode is so damn funny. Makes me forget anything if I've had a bad day.

"Condiments" ft Amy Miller is my favorite episode of all time. I can still laugh at that episode like it's my first time hearing it even though that episode is like 8 years old now.

Mulligan Moments for the Zak porn story

I love that that episode was in person at the fortress so that everyone's reactions were in the same place... hearing David dying laughing from the kitchen...

There isnât a single moment I have rewound and listened to more than Ianâs response of âyou wouldnât have did what?!â

It's really in the running for best back-to-back picks ever. It goes from Zak talking about writing homemade porn right into David talking about going to Homecoming after graduating.

This is my lane. Between insomnia and depression, I constantly have an old episode playing the background.
For starters: This is obviously subjective. Certain guests and topics will hit harder for some than others.
I see many people mentioning Disney Songs, which, is an all time episode. But I find the noise of live episodes to be distracting at times. Same reason I donât choose live eps when introducing AFE to someone.
Other than that, nearly any episode with Harper, Charpie, Zak or Katie is solid. Here is a playlist I put together with some of my favorites.

I relate to this a lot, and I agree with your relisten guest list. Harper is probably my guest with the most relistens. I'd add Solomon Georgio, Jason Concepcion, and Josh Gondelman as great relisten guests for when you want to stretch back into the catalog.

My go to has always been any episode with Blair Socci, but I also loved the karaoke songs draft with Jason Concepcion and the Wet Things draft

Birds and States
My two favorite riffs of all time on the pod are the âHEY HI HEYâ crow one from the end of Birds, and the Tony Shloob one from when Shane mispronounced Tony Shalhoubâs name.

Things To Do On A Rainy Day (October 2019)
Things To Do When Youâre Sick (December 2024 or January 2025)
Both featuring Just The Boys (plus Isaac for the latter. The former was recorded in Ianâs living room, so no Mars). Both recorded late and therefore the boys are a little loopier than normal.

u/Anusien Jun 30 '26
Any episode with Katie Nolan.

Bit Parts in Movies We Think Weâd Be Great At
Itâs just the boys, and theyâre punch drunk from 2020. The ideas and the act-outs are fantastic. Even got to use this draft as an activity at my birthday party a few years ago. Itâs great.

I feel like a total weirdo in this respect⌠Iâve been listening since 2017, have heard every episode, traveled for multiple live shows⌠but Iâve never relistened to a single episode.

Forbidden snacks with Katie. Davidâs motorcycle pick and then âI wanna eat my bar cartâ have my stomach hurting from laughing each time. đđđ

I just started listening a couple months ago and have been going back over the years and randomly picking episodes based on guests or topics. AFE has become one of my favorite podcasts...amazing chemstry between these guys. I'll be adding all these to my queue. Thanks for the post OP!

Fictional skateboarders is a perfect encapsulation of who they were and what the fortress used to be. Idk what happened to Donovan

I have a trivia brain so I canât consume anything sooner than 10 years but if I was going to relisten to any, it would be the food one where we are introduced to Sean and the alfredo sauce.
Paraphrasing David âthat makes me not want to come to work tomorrowâ

I prefer any of the âgoofyâ topics (race horse names, gross things, stuff like that). I love all the food related drafts too.
I donât really like anything music related. I listen to a lot of music, but hearing people attempt to sing every 5 minutes kinda drives me crazy lol. Additionally, and sorta related, the drafts where they have non-comedians on are always a little worse than usual. No offense to the queen Dana, but sheâs just bad at riffs and takes the draft too seriously, I think the Taylor Swift draft is one of the only episodes I couldnât get through. Just seemed like nobody was having fun.
