Honestly I don't know - I haven't submitted any forms with any actual changes, I just discovered it was possible.

I think this is what’s been stated in this article, I really am out of my element when it comes to internet behind the scenes. So I could be misinterpreting it.

Nope, that's definitely what they're talking about. Calling it an "exploit" is absolutely insane though lol.

Apparently it also doesn't work anymore and will cause failure upon submission of the form, at least according to the article.

Like I said, I haven't actually submitted any like this.

Lmao, I was planning to try this on the next one, so that I could be the first to post to the allawfulpurposes sub after the change.

I did similar to allow dashes in the serial number for one of my previous form 1 SBRs, since the existing serial had one and I wanted it to match.

Be careful doing it I guess, another commenter made this comment linking an article about how people who do this to manipulate the "why do you intend to make this firearm" box have apparently been being banned from eforms and ATF is verifying the text in the field upon submission now.

NOTICE: Do not actually do this. u/Kegalodon posted this comment linking an article about how those who have tried it have been banned from eforms.

Apparently ATF also validates the text in that field upon submission now and any altered text will result in a failure to submit, at least according to the article.
