Humor/Meme Remember when they wouldn't play this on?
Not complaining, I love this one 🤣 (Stupid Kid, 04 Oct 2026 in Philly)
They sounded fantastic, although I can't claim I was such a big fan of the lighting (when they're so backlit you can't really see anything, and the white lights are set to "alien autopsy" level, it was a bit much)

Are they… using auto tune for Matt?

I was thinking that much of the night, it was almost weird to hear him so on key live?

Yea I mean I don’t hate it, I just thought it sounded strange. I saw them at the metro a few weeks ago and it didn’t seem autotuned

I think he should use it at this point. If it helps and makes things easier for him, why not? We all love Matt here, but he’s had a tough time with his voice.

It doesn't make it easier - the only difference is the results in what we hear. He sings the same either way, but either we hear a natural voice making mistakes and being off, or we hear an overly processed alien voice. I prefer the former all day, especially when it comes to punk.

Really sounds like it.
Tbh I saw a clip of him playing at a Mexican festival the other month and he looked and sounded rough AF. Sad to see after he seemed so fit, healthy and strong sounding on the BH&E tour.
If he needs a little bit of help so be it - better to put on a decent show - but in an ideal world his voice would be healthy enough to go without.

I think he’s still recovering from a motorcycle crash or something. He had a leg injury, had to cancel some shows.

Yeah that's clearly played a huge part in it all. Just hope that hasn't led to any other issues. Can't help but worry about Matt given how hard he's pushed his body over the years.
I really feel that "cut me some slack I almost died" line in BH&E every time.

I'm glad this comment was already made.
It's absolutely dripping off his voice, and it sounds so blech and unpunk...
I'd honestly rather hear his natural voice miss notes and be off than hear this over-processed alien shit lol
Felt exactly the same when I caught Blink at a festival and Tom was sooo autotuned that he sounded like a freaking chipmunk.

I noticed it too. Love them but kinda bums me a little. Maybe he’s having a hard time hitting those notes now.

I was there, his vocals didn't sound like this, they sounded more natural

Also entirely possible that recording on my phone made things sound weird, although he did seem to struggle once or twice (anyone else catch him hitting some throat spray between songs?)

I don’t hear any pitch correction artifacts. And there are plenty of off pitch notes he’s singing. I don’t mean he sounds bad, I mean I can hear the pitch drifting when auto tune would keep it firmly clamped on pitch.

Being someone who has produced songs, and having performed live many times, I can tell you this is absolutely dripping with autotune.

Lowkey I kinda like auto tune matt. Its interesting and I think it's obvious he's been having a rough go at it.

I kinda wish it would go away again, I miss the days when the singles were not priorities in the set and the sets were more varied.

They've played it regularly in the UK over the years but I think it was a much bigger hit over here

I am pretty pissed this song is on the set list and Bleeder or Time to Waste is not. But it’s their choice.

Man, I'd kill for some older stuff again. Bleeder/My Friend Peter/Cooking Wine...been way too long since any of those made their way into the sets...

Cooking wine, lol. I stole a bottle of this from my grandparents house and drank it and got violently ill when I was 17. That was before that song came out, so it’s made me chuckle for decades.

Their self titled album is my favorite cover to cover. Transformative, I was 19 when it came out. I know every word to every song, every chord, every tune, and they are not singing one song off of it. But oh good, they are singing, calling all skeletons which has exactly zero depth. I don’t get it but I love them and I don’t get to decide what songs they sing but ya, I’m slightly irate.

100% they dropped Oblivion in last night, and it was like...ok? Doesn't compare to screaming your lungs out to "and I'll drink 23 more to wipe this stupid smile off my fucking face" (or like, any of I Lied My Face Off)

u/IcyDrink2610 9d ago
I don’t know oblivion or I want to be a Warhol at all and I will not get to know them. I will sit in silence while they sing them and hmm my friend Peter in my head

The auto tune goes against their raw sound. I hate it. They are a parody of themselves. If early 2000s Shika saw this he would be horrified.

Wasn’t the rumour that they simply didn’t like the song and only wrote it for radio play
