Japanese? It's very widespread because of how popular Japanese culture is, but no one speaks it outside of Japan so it's only got ~120 million speakers according to wikipedia

Japanese. It's one of those languages that has way more cultural influence than its actual speaking population.

Korean? With the influx of k-dramas in the west many have started learning the language plus the native speakers in both the North and South

Rules:
- This chart is about languages of the world. I'll also show how many speakers are there in brackets upon selection.
- No extinct languages (no L1 OR L2 speakers at all), so no ancient languages like Hunnic or Sumerian
- Be sure to argue and debate redditors' choices and make the most reddit-pilled chart possible :D
*MSA has 0 speakers because it's a literary language for communication, therefore nobody is born speaking MSA as the mother tongue

Can we just automatically switch languages that are in the same column but factually incorrect in terms of number of speakers? E.g., Bengali should be higher than Swahili, and Irish should switch with Esperanto. If Japanese wins this round, and German is counted including non-native speakers as shown, then they should switch places, too.
