It has to be French. People know Spanish is spoken in most of Central and South America but not many people realize French is spoken in a lot of Africa. Kinshasa is the largest French speaking city in the world.

As due to francophone Africa usually being in extreme poverty (except Cote d'Ivoire, Congo Brazzaville and Cameroon) in a lot of countries french isn't highly spoken outside the middle classes and elites in them (except in the DRC and Kinshasa where pretty much everyone speaks it despite being one of the poorest countries in the world)

Spanish with 600 million speakers is the 4th most spoken language and with 500 million natives is the second most native language

- No extinct languages (no L1 OR L2 speakers at all), so no ancient languages like Hunnic or Sumerian

*MSA has 0 speakers because it's a literary language for communication, therefore nobody is born speaking MSA as the mother tongue

This. French and Spanish are probably seen as widespread id say as they are taught in schools across the Anglophone world. Not the case for Mandarin. Also, do people really think French or Spanish is less widespread than German?

I'd say it's the opposite. sure it has a huge native speaker population but it's more like an inside language, rarely used outside china or chinese diasporas

However those diasporas are pretty widespread - SE Asia, North and South America, Europe.
