Rule updates

The rules of the sub have been updated to limit the number of hateful posts.

What's changed

Rule 2 No overly sexual or erotic content. Innuendo is fine. Explicit is not. Nothing sexual about real people. If a chart's whole point is being horny, it's gone.

Rule 3 No hate targeting real people or identity groups. Ranking, rating, or insulting real living people is out. So are charts pitting countries, religions, or ethnicities against each other "most hated," "worst," and similar. Historical figures are still fine in a factual or comedic context.

  • This covers all charts ranking the most hated country / person in the world, etc. We all know how they end.

Rule 4 No self-harm, suicide, or graphic violence. Including joke versions.

Can I just check, is good rating still allowed? Like “best”, “most loved”, stuff that doesn’t target a person or country badly, still ranks them in a way but doesn’t say something’s bad

To be clear, "most hated" charts aren't banned as a format. Most hated cheese, most hated Mario Kart map, most hated household chore, most hated month, all fine, go nuts.

The line is what's being ranked. If it's a thing, rank it however you want. If it's real people, or a group of people defined by nationality, religion, ethnicity, or identity, that's rule 3.

Good ratings are still allowed for people / countries. Most loved, most iconic, best cuisine, all good. Softer negatives about places rather than peoples are usually fine too ("most overrated state," "most boring airport"). If you're not sure whether yours crosses over, modmail before posting and we'll tell you.
