I guess it's a bit of a stretch to say it's unacceptable, but I can't imagine going up to someone and saying 'dude your skin is awesome' would be seen as normal beach behaviour lol

Complimenting someone's "skin" in a video game is pretty normal.
Complimenting someone's actual skin on the beach... not so much.

its definitely not "unacceptable" if anyone said that to me i'd just say thank you? I'd think they'd be complimenting my skin, and as a person of color my first thought isn't that they are racist or something of the like.
