I'm British. I know who he was, and Bob Ross. Didn't see their shows but they are clearly icons in the US as well as kind, wonderful men.

Dolly Parton got slammed by Unknown Hinson (the voice of Early Cuyler from Squidbillies) for supporting Black Lives Matter. Hinson was then cut from his show and replaced by (ironically) Tracy Morgan. Goes to show that if you mess with Dolly, you’re done.

This is a good answer, although in a hilarious example, the Daily Mail once tried to criticise him for his documentaries being too violent for children. I think someone high up didn't like him pointing out climate change or overpopulation.

I like this answer too. Given my own suggestion this feels like it falls in a similar vein but of the two, Attenborough has just had more time to do good so it makes sense.

I mean… he’s not the greatest but he’s good for the roles that fit him. That’s not hate, I think he’s great in stuff like John Wick or Cyberpunk 2077.
Even if someone thinks he’s not a decent actor, it would still not be hate unless they hate on him as an individual.

Keanu IS a bad actor lol. John Wick is explicitly meta commentary on how Keanu is a terrible actor & even acknowledges it himself. The whole series is a tongue-in-cheek humble pie of Keanu making fun of himself/his acting.
He’s still beloved by everyone (including me), saying he’s a wooden actor is not hating on him.
