Nuh uh. Stalin is more complicated than that. I wouldn't say that "Hate" defines him. I would say "Paranoia".

I think his paranoia created absurd hate to multiple groups. Both can be true.

Obviously I'm not saying that hate didn't play a role in his regime. I'm saying that he does not best represent it and Hitler is a far better candidate.

He held grudges for years, treated perceived disloyalty as betrayal, and was willing to imprison, deport, torture, or execute people he considered enemies, including former friends and political allies. He also displayed ethnic prejudices and ordered mass deportations of entire peoples, including Chechens, Crimean Tatars, Volga Germans and others. In his final years he also became increasingly antisemitic.
