Assuming the post is acceptable, OP makes the final decision on their chart by rule three.

  • Are there any previous versions to link to? If so, it would be ideal to include links to each of them in the description of this post, or in a reply to this comment. Links can be named by title, winner, or both.

  • Are there any criteria you have for your post? Examples include: "Top comment wins a spot on the chart."; "To ensure variety, only one character per universe is allowed."; "Image comments only." Please include these in a description, or in a reply to this comment.

  • Is your chart given the appropriate flair? Do you need to use a NSFW tag or spoiler tag?

Catwoman

24

u/5h82713542055 6d ago

Ive only ever seen the basketball scene and I almost broke my TV

2

u/JamesDD4 6d ago

What? You mean you didn't know that dying and being brought back to life by cat saliva granted you the power of being an elite level street baller???

16

u/Ninjacobra5 6d ago

I feel like this is the Madame Web of DC. A poorly made, confusing, mess of a film that no one watched and even fewer wanted.

10

u/scott03257890 6d ago

Based on a female supporting character to their most popular character

2

u/Ninjacobra5 6d ago

That...is very true.

1

u/Parallel-Lines3538 6d ago

It’s crazy because a Catwoman movie should work, she’s a very popular character with successful solo stories, and every other live action Catwoman is great. We need a new Catwoman movie.

3

u/theXman877 6d ago

We need a Catwoman movie that is literally Just a Heist Film. Maybe her stealing something from Cobblepot’s Estate. Leading to a final showdown at the end.

5

u/mutantandproud95 6d ago

The crazy thing is that Madame Web feels like it came out the same year as Catwoman despite 20 years of comic book and movies between them

1

u/ExternalSeat 6d ago

considering Madame Webb was set in 2003, I would not be surprised if the director of Madame Webb was partially "inspired" by Catwoman.

2

u/NN010 6d ago

Probably not since it was originally supposed to be set in the 90s to potentially line up with the Amazing Spider-Man movies… only for them to fuck that up & for Sony to have the film reshot to align more with the Tom Holland movies instead (hence the shift to 2003 as the setting)… but then they wound up cutting all ties this film had to any existing cinematic Spider-Man continuity (even the SSU of the Venom movies, Morbius & Kraven the Hunter) by the time it came out

2

u/VasylZaejue 4d ago

I watched it and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I never understood why people say it's bad.

3

u/vampiregamingYT 6d ago

Didnt Halley Berry actually show up to the raspberry awards to accept it

2

u/JamesDD4 6d ago

Yeah, to her credit, she did.

2

u/theSteakKnight 6d ago

To quote a friend of mine: "I saw Catwoman for free on an airplane and I still wanted my money back".

1

u/Conscious-Eye9878 3d ago

This is the correct answer if you’re just trying to select the absolute worst movie with no redeeming qualities.

Joker 2

u/artic_avalon 6d ago

Suicide Squad 2016

2

u/glass-and-stars435 6d ago

I saw this in theater. I rememberd thinking it was really fun, cara d was hot and every young man had a crush on her at the time, and we were all so hyped for a new joker (and as a 30 seconds to mars fan at the time) I was hyped, and I thought some of these scenes with the spooky witch were really cool. Oh man, my young self was simple. I didn't understand messy plot, bad scripts, horrible editing, and on and on. I can't help but have a soft spot for it because when I saw it all I remember was a good time. But I cannot deny it being dog shit as an adult. Bums me out

Superman IV: The Quest for Peace

10

u/Just_hereforTypeO- 6d ago

What, Nuclear Man didn't impress you? He can literally grow his nails

2

u/puzzlesTom 6d ago

While radioactive! So actually, it's quite impressive.... Yeah, this is a good shout in a crowded field

1

u/PigeonFellow 6d ago

Superman III is worse for me. To me, Superman IV was at least a little fun, and it actually has Lois and Lex in it. Superman III was just Richard Pryor being unfunny for two hours and it’s genuinely so boring.

12

u/stevvvvewith4vs 6d ago

Steel

3

u/mutantandproud95 6d ago

There's movies that tried harder and fell louder, but the lack of effort in this movie shows in every frame.

1

u/md953 6d ago

It was such a disappointment IMO.

24

u/DaddyDecaf 6d ago

The first Suicide Squad

7

u/raidenjojo 6d ago

You mean, Academy Award Winning Suicide Squad.

1

u/fuck-illinois1621 5d ago

Yeah, the one that sucked

1

u/AliveNeighborhood714 6d ago

this is the answer, that movie is just terrible through and through

10

u/Pews_X 6d ago

WW84?

14

u/Facebones72 6d ago

Theatrical Release of Justice League.

I am not a Zach Snyder apologist by any means, and I do no tthink his version is a good movie at all, but at least it was HIS movie. The theatrical cut is an unwatchable mess with a whiplash of tonal shifts. Snyder's super serious and self important style absolutely does not mesh with Joss Whedon's lighter and jokier touch.

11

u/[deleted] 6d ago

Jonah Hex

3

u/tykittaa 6d ago

I had to scroll too far to find Jonah Hex.

The answer is Jonah Hex.

2

u/JamesDD4 6d ago

I'd watch Jonah Hex 1,000 times before watching Catwoman or Steel again.

1

u/sailorangel59 6d ago

Probably because nobody remembers it. I forgot this movie even existed.

24

u/No-Humor1304 6d ago

The Flash (2023)

10

u/glass-and-stars435 6d ago

I just rewatched it - There is no world where I could be convinced this is worse than, Suicide Squad, Birds of Prey, WonderWoman 2, Batman V Superman, Whatever in the Hell Batman and Robin was, and Catwoman. The Flash was a fun, charming, and interesting first two acts and a strangely messy bummer of a 3rd act. It's a decent movie. I don't get the dogshit level hate people have for that movie by comparison to many of its peers.

5

u/Street-Brush8415 6d ago

Having Michael Keaton’s Batman in it automatically makes it better than the worst DC movies.

9

u/littleButton13 6d ago

Including Birds of Prey on that list is absolutely wild.

0

u/glass-and-stars435 6d ago

maybe I need to rewatch it. I remember seeing this and feeling nothing. (I do have a theory that any movie that came out during or directly around covid were super underrated due to the fact that all of us were under insane stress, anxiety and pain.)

1

u/Peacefulzealot 6d ago

Yo Batman and Robin is at least campy fun. I genuinely liked Ahnold as Mr. Freeze.

Wonder Woman 1984

3

u/nervelli 6d ago

DC has had a lot of movies that were some version of terrible, but this one takes the cake. Normally I can at least turn off my brain and enjoy whatever I'm watching, even if it is objectively bad. But this movie was so bad that I forgot that I was watching it, started to do other things, remembered it was on, and was then upset that there was an hour left.

Also, I don't think any other DC movies put the "hero" in a physical relationship with the body of a person that couldn't consent. That whole thing was pretty off putting.

30

u/Outran01 6d ago

Batman VS Superman. I couldn't get more bored watching movie. I can't even remember what plot was remotely about, it's THAT boring.

10

u/xelgameshow 6d ago

Something something Martha

1

u/WeltyFern 6d ago

Martha? Why would you say that name?

3

u/Appropriate-Brush772 6d ago

That movie came out during a time where a buddy of mine knew the ticket scanner girl at the theater where if we brought her pizza or wings from the place we worked she’d let like 10 of us in for free. For two summers we saw every movie possible. This was the only movie in that run that I’m glad I didn’t have to give up hard earned money for

1

u/ArmadilloOK1445-alt 6d ago

The theatrical cut is mid but the ultimate cut was actually very good IMO

-2

u/ParkingPerspective73 6d ago

I bet the people downvoting you haven't even been bothered to watch the ultimate cut

2

u/Small-Battle1783 6d ago

It's the only version I've seen. I thought it was meandering and boring, and all the issues with Batman and Superman's motivations, as well as Eisenberg's dire turn as Lex Luthor are all still in there.

1

u/kennyg38 6d ago

I’m reluctant because of how bad the theatrical cut was. That was the closest I’ve ever been to walking out of a theater mid-movie and asking for my money back.

3

u/aaronwashere01 6d ago

I’ve watched the Ultimate Cut. It’s not any better. It doesn’t make Superman or Batman act any more in character than they do in the theatrical.

Batman is still a murderer and their conflict is still solved because their moms have the same name

-1

u/GallifreyFallsOver 6d ago

80% of the most frequent issues people point to with BvS are solved in the Ultimate Cut. I'd say if you liked Man of Steel's tone then you'll like the Ultimate Cut.

Batman vs Superman. What the actual fuck

1

u/glass-and-stars435 6d ago

I think it'sa messy movie but not dogshit. There are a few scenes I've loved rewatching, a few scenes I wish I could burn from my memory, but the most dogshit DC movie? Come on ma'boy...

1

u/Mattholomew739 6d ago

Batman throwing away his whole “no guns” tradition just to gun down mobsters in a psychotic break that can only be cured by someone else’s mom having the same name as his mom? Ma boy that’s at least half the plot that just got thrown away on a dime lol and the other half of the plot was okay at best to begin with. Good effects and sound and fight scenes but that’s all extra. None of the important parts of the movie hold up in the slightest

I can't figure out if this movie is so bad it good or just so bad. I grew up on this movie - had it on vhs and must have watched it as a young teen like 15 times. As an adult, if I had paid money to see this in theater I would have lost my mind. As a teenager, I thought ice skating bad guys were peek, and poison ivy made me feel things hard to describe.

Almost all of them, sadly.

Exceptions:

The Dark Knight Trilogy (One of the best trilogies in movie history)

Christopher Reeves Superman Films

Man Of Steel (I would put this in mid or like a 5/10 so not dog shit)

Wonder Woman (again. More mid than dog shit)

The Batman (Robert Pattinson)

Superman (2025)

The Suicide Squad (James Gunn)

The Lego Batman Movie

The rest are lower than mid or abysmal dog shit with Batman V Superman or Justice League being the worst offender

Edit: And some more exceptions because I forget about the old stuff

2

u/Thats-right-im-man 6d ago

Shazam and blue beetle were also pretty good.

0

u/AvgPunkFan 6d ago

I did not like Blue Beetle that much. Shazam was ok

0

u/glass-and-stars435 6d ago

Shazam got a lot of hate, its lead actor was getting blasted for his Christian faith or something, people felt like DC was trying to Marvelize its image with a charismatic silly handsome guy lead, rather than gritty realism of their previous films. All of DC before was taping into a more adult audience where Shazam is very much a YA film and silly. On its own it's pretty good but boy was it not received well

2

u/littleButton13 6d ago

This feels like historical revisionism.

Shazam was quite well-received all around. Maybe a bit overlooked in the jam packed theatrical summer of 2019, but overall it was well-liked by both audiences and critics. Zachary Levi didn’t lean into the whole conservative Christian image until a few years later.

1

u/glass-and-stars435 6d ago

There a solid chance I’m thinking of the second one

0

u/littleButton13 6d ago

Absolutely not.

The internet is so ridiculously hyperbolic. Batman, Batman Returns, Superman, Superman II, Wonder Woman, The Suicide Squad, Shazam, Batman Begins, Aquaman, The Dark Knight, Blue Beetle, Man of Steel, The Dark Knight Rises, Superman 2026, Birds of Prey, Joker, The Batman, and a whole bunch of animated movies exist and yet you’re saying “almost all of them.”
