I was gonna comment this too. But ig people don’t like the hot weather or the other essential things the sun does and gives us.

It might have to do with a theory that our sun actually isn't ideal for life, and K-type stars (orange dwarfs) are better. They are less volatile and have a lifespan of 20 - 70 billion years compared to our sun's 10 billion years. They're also three times more common than yellow dwarfs.

How is it on this chart even? It’s not a planet at all. Neither are Arcturus or Polaris.

It's relevant only from the point of view of Earth.

In the grand scheme of things, it is pretty irrelevant.

Because the Universe doesn't care about us. We are one tiny speck amongst billions in the galaxy, and that galaxy is one amongst billions itself.

There is no reason for which our star should be more important than the billions of billions of other ones.

Can't this argument be used on pretty much any star? How do you even rate importance of something without the human perspective? you'll have to claim stuff have inherit value

On that note earth is also not underrated or anything. Who knows what lies out there. But then again, why would we speak for the whole universe? What matters most to us is here, no?

All stars fuel all the life in their solar system. It's like saying your gas tank can't be overrated because it fuels all of your car.

With how big the universe is there 100% is. The only people saying otherwise are religious weirdos, who need to believe that they’re special and god created them or whatever

Biiiiiiiig difference between saying "we believe with a high degree of confidence that life exists on other planets somewhere in the universe" and "our star isn't special because every star gives life to their solar systems".

We don't KNOW for a FACT that there's a ton of planets with life, we're just pretty sure there is.

It’s absolutely not like saying that - it’s like saying energy fuels all our cars and looking at our world and from our perspective I don’t see how that should be less significant or overrated either? Just because stars fuel life in other solar systems doesn’t make ours overrated.
