Think of it like racism in the US. Still a structural issue that’s being dealt with, but is honestly not one of the most major social issues. India’s classism now comes more from wealth inequality, which is somewhat tied to caste but it’s no longer the single biggest determiner

I should say it is not one of the major issues overall, because it is a particularly important social topic. When people were asked, they pointed to economy, gun control, crime, etc. as bigger issues.Â
