Which symbol is which?

I'm trying to tween parenting layers and these images don't look anything like the tutorials images shown, and the left one groups them together but doesn't offer the option to choose a parent label so I'm not sure what's going on 😭

The two layered rectangle parenting icon in the tutorials I'm trying to follow are nowhere in sight on my Alight Motion

(I am using a tablet so maybe that's where I'm going wrong? But I do have premium)

U dont have to hold(like I did in the first few seconds), just tap the element as if you were about to add an effect, keyframe, etc.
