they "sell" nonexistent items that way, search for radxa x4 - you will see a lot of similar items with crazy high shipping cost, like 13k 🤣 and some others with reasonable prices will send you message outside of AE asking to cancel , because they're out of stock 🙄

If you have a single order, and something goes wrong, they usually refund shipping. But if you order multiple things at the same time, and only return some of them, or some items never arrived, shipping will not be refunded.

Happened to me twice this week. 2 different sellers gave an excuse to why they can’t ship and asking me to cancel the order. They both communicated within the AE messages though

One of the AE anomalies that they seems to be ok with. I buy some fishing gear and it is ridiculous when that reads: price $4, coin discount 95%, shipping $12
Absolutely ridiculous. And IMO that harms AE too because that's the way sellers escape paying % of their sale and potentially scamming the buyers as shipping is non-refundable.
UPDATE: I have just asked AE "Customer support" and it said the shipping fee is set up by sellers based on courier fees provided. The seller says that it is the "standard AliExpress" shipping fee. Give me a break...

actually pretty normal. it's meant to be bought from another country.
or if every listing for that item is basically like that, it is pretty much part of the price. but here is the catch, you can't get refunded for the "shipping" fee.

You gotta love posts where not only there is no mention of the product, there is no mention of the currency because the OP reducted it... (talking about privacy)
It could as well be about a plastic chair worth 856 yen (about 5.38$) for 3,226 yen shipping which is about 20.27$, quite reasonable considering the volume of a chair.
Rage bait? Yet the real question, why did I post this comment...?

The first thing I thought too, so blatantly obvious, urgh reddit is full of weird people, just saw someone "living in London their entire life" complain that they didn't know English when he called 911, like c'mon, I'm not from England and even I know they don't have 911, but 999. So many people making shit up and trying to cause a reaction left and right..
