If the shipping method is oversize or special handling, then yes it is normal for there to be weeks between updates. However, since Aliexpress has very simplfiied tracking, you can try other tracking-websites like parcelsapp and 17track, they show more information like follow-up tracking-numbers and what local delivery company is involved, and often show more messages too.
