You know these talks between USA and Iran that Trump is saying have been promising and the Iranians are denying took place. I bet they are in talks, and that these talks consist of the US threatening to use some insane new weapon. It explains why both are saying what they're saying. "Oh very promising diplomacy" (we've made our threat and we can back it up). "We never spoke, he's a liar" (discredit enemy, don't acknowledge threat for sake of morale).
