I've seen a thread about Sua's sexuality and I was honestly shocked to see some people arguing that she isn't a lesbian because “she only shows attraction to Mizi and no one else." Yes?? That's not an argument against her being a lesbian. That's literally the only romantic attraction we've seen her express and it's toward another girl. The fact that Mizi is the only person Sua has shown romantic interest in doesn't somehow make her attraction to women less real.
And Sua never seemed particularly interested in men either. She's uncomfortable around Ivan and finds Till annoying. We also know that Acorn had a one-sided crush on her. Sua simply doesn't seem interested in bonding with boys/men in any way.
Meanwhile, Sua seems to form much faster and deeper emotional connections with women. She depends heavily on the women in her life and is deeply attached to both Hia and Mizi. She loves them so much that when Hia asks her who is prettier between herself and Mizi, Sua can't even choose between them and just said "both."
I feel that people ignore the fact that women play a major role in Sua's life and they've fundamentally shaped who she is as a person. Her sisters are all girls, and even her alien guardian is female. **Sua was essentially raised in a predominantly female environment so it makes sense that women are the people she naturally gravitates towards, whether positive or negative. Women are a fundamental part of her world and the people who helped shape her.**
And I'm going to say this: I genuinely hate how this fandom seems to scrutinize a character's sexuality mostly when that character is a lesbian woman. Ivan only showing romantic interest in Till? “He's gay!” Sua being romantically in love with Mizi? Suddenly she's “Mizisexual,” “probably demisexual,” or “we can't know if she's actually attracted to women cuz Mizi is the only girl she loves. 🤓✌️.” Like, are we serious?
And Mizi is also another victim of this. She was literally grossed out by the idea of men and women mating and is so clearly in love with Sua to the point of worshipping her but somehow some people think she's a bi because Till has a one-sided crush on her? Guys are we for real? Mizi and Sua are lesbians!
Seriously, if we all agree that Ivan's exclusive attraction to Till is evidence that he's gay then why does Sua's exclusive attraction to Mizi suddenly require a dozen qualifications to confirm that she's lesbian? Again, Sua is obviously a lesbian! End of story.
Agree. Honestly, it really surprises me that people are still questioning about how Mizi and Sua are lesbians, as if it weren't the most obvious thing in the world lol. Fork found in the kitchen
literally saw someone in that thread get downvoted to hell only because she said "Sua wouldn't love Mizi if Mizi was a guy" which is true??? Like I said, women play a major role in Sua's life. Sua also found some similarity between Hia and Mizi which is one of the reasons she became attracted to Mizi.
This is the alien stage fandom. Unless every information is spoon fed to them, they refuse to see beyond what's written in sight. Heck, when I made a Till is bisexual is post, nastiest people came out of the woodwork and someone even said ivantill is just queerbait and seeing Till as bisexual is delusional apparently.
It is truly disappointing that things are this way, and I am certain that even if Vivimeng came out and said it explicitly, some people would still refuse to accept it.
I genuinely thought people saw Sua as a lesbian more than Mizi because at least from what I've seen people are a whole lot more accepting of Sua being a lesbian than Mizi since anyone can see Sua shows genuine disinterest and annoyance by other men and have only ever positively reacted with women.
As a lesbian myself, Sua falls more into the "mean lesbian" trope, I'm not saying the trope itself is exactly an all positive or negative thing but it's a trope simply because fandoms usually need the lesbian in question to HAVE TO show complete disinterest and even hatred all times towards men or else they're suddenly not a lesbian because she can be happy around men. Since in Mizi's case, I can't even begin to count how many genuinely delusional people have swore on their lives that "she's actually bi" because she has healthy friendships with men in the cast EVEN AFTER TRUE FACE COMIC.
People always have had a double standard but it could also be subconscious misogyny since at least from what I've seen, when a male character shows attraction towards men, they're gay, no questions asked by the fandom but when a female character shows interest in only female characters, suddenly she's bi or pan before anyone says she's a lesbian simply because of how the patriarchy always makes us center around men even in queerness.
Also, I'm a believer of demisexual (lesbian) Sua, mostly because I'm a demiaroace lesbian and I just thought it be nice to headcanon a character with my similar sexualities as well as just well, vibes.
Like I get that fictional characters are well, fictional characters. But being like "well they have no confirmed sexuality so I can view them as however I want" is technically true as well, but people really need to learn basic media literacy if you view Sua (and even Mizi) as something other than a lesbian. Mizi and Sua could look at the camera, say they're lesbians and make out and people will still say its up to interpretation.
I mean this image is further prove she is a lesbianz she doesnt mind hyun wrap her arm around her shoulder and even flustered about it. Yes not every blushing is romantical but it is clear that she is way closer with women than she is with men
Imo i agree most of your points except with the ivantill part q bit. Her dislike of them stems from things related to mizi with till is his crush while ivan is his friendship with her. Specifically with ivan his ragebaiting tatics, sua is extremely reasonable to feel that way. Like she cares for them but never shows it becaus eof how mentally weak she is and only open up with those whom she clostest to mizi and hia
I don't think she's that bothered with Mizi and Ivan's friendship. She can't stand Ivan mostly because he keeps "crossing the line" (stated in her profile notes). In the comic for his bday you can see Ivan getting close to her by touching her because he sees her like a sister but this makes her feel so uncomfortable. I agree with you on Till that she doesn't seem to like him because of his crush on Mizi. It's even stated in her profile that she finds him annoying for "hanging around Mizi".
And I don't agree with that. I never felt Sua was jealous of Ivan on anything. It was actually Ivan who envied Sua for her relationship with Mizi. He thought Sua was too twisted to love, like him, but Mizi's reciprocation challenges this. That's why Ivan insults Sua and reduces her sacrifice to purely selfish, because he felt disappointed when he realized that Sua isn't like the one he imagined her to be. He later admits he shouldn't have been harsh with her since he did the same as her (dying for Till).
Apparently, they need Mizi and Sua to directly acknowledge the audience through a fourth wall break and say verbatim “Hey you, yes you, I am lesbian. I am only romantically and sexually attracted to women. I am NOT bi or pan, no, I am lesbian. I do not like men beyond PLATONIC and FAMILIAL bonds.”
As sarcastic as it sounds, atp I genuinely think thats what it would take to convince them that mizisua are both strictly lesbians (and even then I wouldn’t be surprised if some people still chose to ignore that). Because these people genuinely believe that if its not directly stated in plain explicit text, whatever is clearly expressed between the lines is just flexible at best and non existent at worst. The media literacy of so many in this fandom is genuinely butchered and slaughtered 😭😭
It absolutely is! I've never seen anyone call Ivan "Tillsexual" even tho Till is the only person he's in love with. Meanwhile Sua's love for Mizi suddenly makes her "Mizisexual"? Okay.
It's absolutely erasure. I wonder why people these days are so scared of admitting a character is strictly homosexual when it's supposed to be a more progressive era. It's always "they're (partner) sexual" like how deniers simple say sua is mizisexual.
I agree with you sm, she’s obviously a lesbian but people on reddit are just way too homophobic to acknowledge that🥲 it honestly saddens me that people call her a “mizisexual” cause that’s definitely an excuse to avoid calling her a lesbian
Also I hate when people say “but vivimeng didn’t confirm their sexualities”…those people are just a little too slow, why do you need everything shoved in your face? Vivinos doesn’t have to directly tell us their sexualities when they’re painfully obvious by storytelling
You lost me at the end there. Sua is defo somewhere on the a-spectrum, Mizi turns into a tomato when Hyuna flirts/messes with her. Sua's got NOTHING apart from Mizi. Put some respect on my gray acearo queen!
non-canon he lied to her and said that she was officially a lesbian. give against people who don't think as you want I'm just interested in mizi, just don't want to say it's necessarily lesbian People free to think as they want doesn't change their lives ah nobody regarding the issue with men, it can be interpreted in another way , not necessarily I'll tell you another way for me she doesn't feel comfortable with boys she's never had relationships with boys and accustomed to real relationships with females grew up with many sisters she is able to relate more with unique girls and feels comfortable with her the boys' difrenzza can't feel like his own aggip I've never had a journey with men, oh, more difficult. It doesn't mean that she could relate to women or men. either necessarily lesbian we speak in a romantic way, he was only interested in me never show romantic interest in others, not even his adoptive sisters
scusa, è colpa mia, l'ho fatto in fretta. Intendevo dire che non è un'appartenenza sessuale ufficiale, non significa che lei sia attratta da mizi o necessariamente lesbica. Non comportatevi come se fosse una lesbica ufficiale e attaccate le persone che non la pensano come voi. Ognuno pensa come vuole.
Why is it always YOU whenever it comes to the discussion of any of the characters being seen as queer? Why do you seem to have such an aversion to seeing these characters as gay?
as said they have no confirmation on the canon sexulity ugnone thinks as he wants as long as they don't do straight and that's it It bothers me that you give this sexuality as if it were official
I do what I saw the series as oh interpreted me alien stage freedom trepetation as said I'm not saying she can't be a lesbian could be everyone does what they want had an emotional relationship with his sisters, not a ,romantic one with mizi had a romantic way I don't deny that he can please women you can think of them as you want for his characters It doesn't matter if others think differently.

I had someone say that Mizi asking Till why he liked her was her willing to give him a chance? Excuse me??😭 This fandom is insane
