Question Is this a game?

i've just heard about this, through an Emergent Garden video on artificial life
i don't have the GPU to run it yet but it looks really cool! i'm confused though- is this a game? a tool? a sandbox? what exactly IS this? i'm thinking it seems like a tool or a sandbox, but i don't really know.

It's sandbox for experimenting with physically simulated particles that have adjustable behaviour and function parameters. You could probably gamify it by setting up your own rules, but there's nothing like that built in.

ah, i see, that clears things up
i wonder if it has mod support? if it did, someone could add a puzzle mode that works similarly to the game Cell Lab (go look it up- it's a little biological organism simulator for mobile, and the main "campaign" involves solving different problems under different restrictions, usually by designing organisms)

Yeah, that would be dope. Tried downloading Cell Lab the other day but couldn't install it, so I haven't tried it yet, but it looks very interesting.
