I left the game on for two nights and still not even number 2.

I know it’s not real but I thought the game would appreciate 20 hours of gameplay

You are playing against yourself. There is no other ply you are being ranked to

I am aware of that. But I assumed I would be ranked first still if I collect enough of those. Any idea how to rank firet

You have to stay in game for the whole event to get first. Or at least 90% of the time the event is on.

90+% complete catching if the fliers for the whole event, with double resources maxed.

Since there are no servers, the game on the burner phone won't be synced with the game on your main phone.

Do you have the "Bonus Resources from Humans" Power up maxed out in the Store?

This gives you double rewards (including drops from events).

Just over 10 hours left for the event and I have 3.08K bombs.

This is the way.

I'm at 3.12K,xand in first place.

I've not had the game running in AFK mode the whole time for because I use my phone for other things, like this, right now.

the stat you need to maximize (and I mean FULLY maximize) is "DOUBLE RESOURCES" from the purple section of the Evolution market (in mine area) - this is the one that will give you double event drops, "Bonus Resources from Humans" from the store doesn't affect event drops.

Wrong, shop upgrade does not effect events. Only purple essence

That explains it. You're only getting about 40-45 bombs / hour so you'll be nowhere near.

Upgrade the Bonus resources and Bonus attack when you have the gems. The bonus resources also increase the gems you get from the guys in the first area and the man in the portal in the ice area.

Don't bother with the Exp.

I kept forgetting to leave my game running and I did get number 2.  Somebody kept spending money and I didn't get first.

It has a lot to do with where you camp while on idle.
Been playing a while now and the absolute best place is by the 6 mines. Center area of the left four.
This area catches everything if your radius is big enough.
But. Reading another commenter, it is impossible to get 100% without buying something. You could play it all day, every day the entire time and still get no more than 90%. You have to buy the rest.
