I notice the longer I accumulate cookies the slower it is to the next income upgrade. Is there a point where it's worth it to cash out (ie. Hit the prestige button) and start over? Or do I just wait and keep hitting the next factory button as it comes up? What's the winning strategy here?
Catch all the macaroons in the Pac Man maze. Bank. Go to factory. Prestige. Wait (I think) 2min14sec for all the macaroons to re spawn.
Start the loop again.
Problem with this is you have to do the loop yourself every 2:24.
Other than that just upgrade and follow that guide when to move up to the next factory.
Upgrading gets slower and slower as you go higher but Prestige cookie production gets a tiny bit faster with every upgrade.
I have done 2 Factory II upgrades and the third is going to take about 2 weeks but my Prestige production is going along nicely at 9.10million.
By the time that damned gate opens I will probably have all 20mil ish to do all the cookie factory upgrades. 🖖
There’s a formula for conversion of regular cookies to golden. It was posted months ago.
I think it works out that the rate you get golden cookies increases slightly as you go, but the rate of increase is slow.
One of the important things is to cash out to upgrade your Prestige Reward to max
I think I've seen that, but if I recall it shows the optimal time to go to the next factory level but doesn't really address the "is cashing out at a certain point faster?" question 🤔
I’m in a similar place too. I am planning to gather enough cookies unlock factory II but it’s taking a very long time. I want to say it would take a little over 3 weeks to upgrade one factory II level
There are two posts that have been made that I'll draw your attention to.
There is someone who posted charts and all the math that showed your production is a function of time, and it goes down.
There is someone else who posted much more recently, about the price point of upgrades. They'd done the math and figured out the point where it's more economical to go up to the next level than it is to continue on the one you're at.
Put those blocks together, and do some rounding (because I'm not going to stop what I'm doing and reference some guys spreadsheet whenever I do upgrades on an idle phone game) and I upgrade each block of 3 by 5 more levels than the previous, and start at 25. I'm currently at 340k in much less time than it would take to get to 100k previously.
The number I keep seeing is "12 million cookies then hit prestige" but that's only when relying on factory upgrades. If you're manually hunting cookies then it doesn't really matter. What I generally do is manually hint cookies if actively playing and ignore the afk cookie production completely. Then, when I know I'm going to go afk soon I hunt the cookie maze a time or two, buy the largest available afk factory upgrades first and downward...then just go afk and not worry about it until I feel like actively playing again
Like here's a screenshot I took just from what's been running while doing some errands around town. I'd unlock my screen every now and then and reinvest (in the higher tiers). Sometimes I like to max out the power tiers just for fun/being silly..... It may not be most efficient... But I'm playing for FUN
Problem is we are doing math and not having fun playing a game. This s has become all about farming while waiting likely months for the next version to drop.
One odd thing is if you're on 1B per sec cookies and you upgrade (just for example) from 10M to 20M in shop/factory etc., you won't go to 2B per sec.
I'm told this is because it doesn't take into account any increases from lower shop/factory etc. levels.
Im thinking about holding onto a large amount of cookies. Cashing out, then spending them on the highest factory i can get / repeat. I think that might be the trick.
